Hey guys. Got some questions about using external synths to vocode...
I have an ada8000 which i plug my 2 hardware synths into, my turntables, and my mic. This is bussed into SFP via adat. I just got a behringer v-amp pro. what would i need to send the signal back out of scope and into the vamp, and into a synth for vocoding, and back into sfp?
what would be the best approach to record a dry signal, and then effect the signal after recording, for non destructive purposes? what hardware would i need to accomplish all of this?
Routing issues...

wiring would normally be
pin2 xlr----tip
pin3 xlr----ring
pin1 xlr-----sleeve for balanced
pin 1 is connected to the shielding
for unbalanced, pin 1 & 3 is usually connected to sleeve, pin2 to tip. a better way to make the unbalaced cable would be to to not connect the shield on the phone end. the shield will then run up to the device with the phone plug but, since the shield is not connected to both devices, there can't be a ground loop between the two devices.
hosa sells these types of cables in balanced and unbalanced as do most cable manufacturers:
