Garritan Orch and Kontakt Player and Scope

Post by dbmac »

Anyone got the standalone NI Kontak player to work with Scope? How are you setting up the audio - DX, MME or Asio?

tks,

Hi Dave, i'm using garritan with scope fine - just load the kontact player in cubase/sequencer as a standard vsti and use the normal asio outputs (you have to set up the outputs in the kontact player (for some reason these are named kippo 1/2, 3/4, etc..)

You can also use the players stand alone and this works via asio as well, but i'm pretty sure you still need some kinda of sequencer to trigger the players (comes bundled with overture, and this triggers the player from the score - i've also used this and it seemed fine). Unless you are using more than one sequencer at a time i think it should be fine to go via asio.

Hope that helps,
Cheers,
Tom

Yeah, the NI Kontakt player VST instruments work fine in SX3 ASIO at 4ms ulli.
But I get terrible sound from the standalone players even with asio at 23ms ulli (the highest setting). I have to use the DX driver, with audio acceleration turned on in DX-Diag and latency set to 35ms to get good sound.
I don't expect use the standalone players much, just checking out the Garritan samples.
I was wondering what other users experienced.
