I've found that the tabs windows in my project get sluggish for some reason when I go to choose a device.
It was quite fast when I had a fresh install of Scope but I'm not sure if it's because my projects are quite intensive.
I know there's a key in regedit for windows which will make things appear more quicker when the mouse goes over Start ,for example.
Any ideas guys?
Thanks

Scope seems to load the contents of a directory from disk if it's opened/showed for the first time since sfp.exe started.
How's your disk cache, and disk performance generally?

I don't know what else can cause this problem, but I know for sure that if you swap out your graphics card & graphics drivers without doing a fresh install, you WILL notice a significant drop in Scope menu browsing speed. You'll also probably notice that moving actual Scope devices, routing window etc becomes very sluggish. AFAIK, the only way to resolve this issue is to reinstall Windows on a clean disk or partition.
That's one possibility for you anyway.

Ok in general, but it's quite intensive with Giga and Vsti plugins plus the audio streaming.at0m wrote:Scope seems to load the contents of a directory from disk if it's opened/showed for the first time since sfp.exe started.

Will test it more when I have time.

Drivers are all fresh but it would be a nightmare to reinstall everything now I have it running as I want.Shroomz wrote:I don't know what else can cause this problem, but I know for sure that if you swap out your graphics card & graphics drivers without doing a fresh install, you WILL notice a significant drop in Scope menu browsing speed. You don't have it working 'as you want' if you have these problems with graphics performance. I'm no expert in this area & we're currently experiencing the same problem, which is why I posted to be honest. I think in our case it's happening all of a sudden because I installed a new gfx card & drivers recently after our Nvidea card died. I've re-installed Scope & the problem persists, so other than some advanced tweek that I don't know about the only way I can see to resolve the issue (which is a real pain) is to re-install XP. If anyone can suggest another fix, I'll be a happy bunny

I had this problem after installing a new AGP graphics card. I found that installing the latest directx and tweaking the cards accelerator functions helped. In my case, 2d performance was improved when I tweaked the card for 3d. I know alot of people suggest turning off accerlation but this has never helped me.
