StinkySax

Post by marcuspocus »

Hi all, lately, i've been trying to make a song for a to z, which i've never done with vocals. I sung this in my living room, trying not to laught at myself to much... :D

It's been sitting on my hard drive for a month in this stage, trying to convince myself it's not that bad, well it didn't work...But what the heck, i don't think i'll add much more to this anyway.

So here's 'stinky sax' for your suffering pleasure ;)

You had me going there for a minute. When I first looked at the track name, I thought it said 'stinky sex' .... oooops.

To be honest, most of the way through there's a similarity to some of Underworld's work in the vocal sense, but that morphs into a some sort of zappa-esq' sound towards the end, which really throws me off track, but it sounds good, which is what's important imo. I can't talk about your mix until listening on various systems/speaker setups/headphones etc, but it sounded good on our monitors at low-level.

i'd like to hear the stinky sax a bit more. it's a bit too buried for my taste.

I like your stink and didn't suffer at all.

Maybe you could play some more "stink" to annoy a conservative kinda guy?

:D

Hello!

Well, I really liked this one. So, when are you planing to release a longer version?

Anyway, the melody and arrangement is quite different from what I'm used to hear from you. Flexibility is a good thing!

Did you mix this on your MV?

ahah! Good one Marcus!! Yeah, let it all out, give us some smoke and dirt and stink! Some dirty b3 and raspy sax licks would fill the thing nicely!! No need to play a lot of notes, just blow til it breaks and give us some pieces!!

Kepp it up!

Hey, it's been a week, and when i come back, i see all those nice comments!

Thanks alot for all those encouraging words :)

:p

I'll take all of those in consideration, especialy those asking for more STANK !

Ah ah!!!

But not on this one, even thought it seem's unfinished, i feel that's what i wanted in the first place, and with only 1min8 in length, for me it's still a song. Zappa made some shorter than this ;)

Oh, and yes Redsun, i did it all on the MV + An1X (this one is so FAT!), and obviously treated with Vinco for most of the tracks individualy, some Celmo's subbassboosterpro and Master-D multiband compressor.

Thanks again for all those really nice comments.
