MOVEQ+ special & weired effects

Post by MCCY »

Example for an 'Autophaser'
Set very high Q - values. Move them ;)
The effect which sounds like phasing is found in all CW EQs with high Q settings. Only until MOVEQ noone moved the frequency while setting high Q! It is a phasing sound of much higher quality then 'normal' phasing. For me it sounds like my old MXR Phase 100 and I did never hear anything like that before on Computer.
Imagine real stereomovements are possible with moveq. in SPLIT modus. These examples here has just linked settings

Martin

Below there is an Autowah too! It sounds simply better than the 'normal' Creamware autowah.

here you find some mov EQ distortion examples....

first CW distortion,

then Mov_EQ distortion (notice how much cleaner it is, but still rough)

at last some CW synths slightly distort with MOV_EQ, very analogish sounding.
:)

best regards !

MOVEQ distortion/saturation

Post by MCCY »

Cool, hifiboom!
Is this really the same synth sound running through MOVEQ & CWdistortion (no this can't be true!?!?! Listened to it again...)?! A direct comparison with same sounds would give a better impression.... As I'm mainly not an electronic/synth musiscian this is a new view on MOVEQ for me, wow!!!

it is the same 303 line played through cw distortion and through mov_EQ

of course I changed in realtime the cut off and resonance of the 303 sound to show the different behaviour of the 2 distortion types....

so basically its the same dry sound...

but the cw_distortion is kind of destroyed.... where the mov_EQ is more a kind of multiband distortion, so can distort differnt bands in different ways....

of course the 3rd file is a completly other sound and has nothing to do with the two other files....

Hifiboom, zip archives are better for 'mac-user compatability'. ;¬

MOVEQ dist

Wow. So I'm really impressed... As soon as I will have the time, I will do further work on SATTEkuh which should be great for such things too.

what about a mov_distortion unit with nice shroomz GUI....

@Shroomz: I couldn`t upload the sounds directly, only a archive was accepted...

next time I will make mp3s instead of WMA.
If you wasn`t able to listen to the sounds I could convert them....

No problem downloading & listening here hifiboom. Streamable mp3s might catch more listeners, that was all I meant.

Hifiboom, the mp3 upload feature here in the music forum should work just fine. Myself & others have uploaded tracks in recent days. The one I uploaded uses MOVEQ+ for dynamic frequency & gain manipulation of the whole mix. There's also the 1 of 3 kick tracks being distorted by helter skelter by J9k, but that's another story.
