Scope crashes?

Post by Jari »

Hello

I got 3 pulsar2 cards and they are connected together with 2 s/tdm flatcabels.
Computer: PC intel 3GHz, 3Gb ram ,asus P5GD2, Win XP
I start scope and select some softsynth in the meny.
I can play for a while, then it suddenly crashes when I change something,
another preset or add more voices etc.

Everything just freze in the monitor, cant move the mouse or do anything.
But I can still play the last sound with my midi keyboard.

Only thing I can do is a hardware reset and start up my computer again.
Then it happends again... :(

It happends with both scope 4.0 and 4.5

What's wrong?
Bad connection on s/tdm cabel or in the pci slot?

'active sensing' data sent by the midi keyboard are a known source of that type of trouble, or generally things that affect the midi buffers, like accidental loops.
Preferably you turn that feature off in your keyboard, otherwise you need a midi filter module (in SFP) between the card's midi source and the respective synth/device.

cheers, Tom

use a midi filter(in the midi menu in the routing window, although an external filter would be better). use a midi monitor to be sure that that is the problem(if you see active sensing messages in the monitor it probably is).
