I have had problems with my current mobo since i got it! (ASUS A7N8X-E Deluxe)
One can feel things arent stable, even tho it _really_ should be. Ive tweaked everything i could possibly tweak (things found in this forum), but still no luck.

Sudden reboots, blue screens for no reason and a feeling of instability, wich i cant really explain..

First i thought it could be my GFX card, Matrox G550, but as many others in here seem to run the exact same card, i doubt it.

I can go on and on and tell what problems i have, but the main reason for this post was to get any advice on what mobo i can get as a replacement for this i have now. What seems to work nice with Creamware and, let say, Logic and Cubase etc. ? (gotta plan for the future..heh..)

Or am my CPU to old to even be able to find a replacement mobo?

I think it will be difficult to find a good new board for that CPU, although there might be some cheap consumer boards available. So it's either ebay or upgrade the CPU.

Sorry to hear that, as i dont really need more CPU, and dont think i can afford to upgrade both mobo and CPU as well.

Spose ill continue as is then, as Logic works fine, what more could i need for the time beeing anyway.

likely it's that particular mobo or vid card. if you get another of the same it should work. reboots and blue screens usaully indicate damaged hardware..

Well, im gonna get a new gfx card soon, so i spose ill know a bit more then.

Otherwise, Logic will have to do til' the next cpu/mobo update, as i dont really have any problems with it as of yet, besides when working with audio. (i hate beeing poor!)

May i ask, what host u are using gary?

I found a site selling "older" mobo's,
but heck, i dunno anything about whats good or not. Especially in combination with Creamware and audio.

The site is in swedish, but if theres anyone in here who knows anything bout whats decent or not judging from the name of the mobo's, feel free to do so.

You will be looking for a board with an NForce3 Chipset, they are supposed (and have been reported here) to be rocksolid.

I'd search the forums, since theres bound to be several boards of the type you are looking for, all ready listed here as working with Creamware.

Good luck!

Nforce3 is not usable with Socket A... you need an Nforce or Nforce2 chipset.

Thanks for all the input guys.

After a little more investigation, im getting more and more sure about that its my GFX card wich causes most of the troubles.
Not all, but for example my midi flutter problem in Cubase for one.

I downloaded demo's of other hosts, just to try the midi out, and they all works fine, besides Cubase. So, getting a new GFX card will be a interesting move.

Feel free to recomend a cheap one, i need 2 outs for monitors and 1 out for TV, and that its stable with Scope of course.

Thanks again.

I'm using a cheap GeForce (XFX brand). It's only got 1 output but dual-out should be easy to find and not expensive.

i agree with the cheap geforce idea. a good card is available for under $100 with dual outs. i usually buy evga brand, but asus, xfx and many others will work just fine.

currently i have logic 5.5(almost never use it anymore), sonar 5(use it a bit) and cubase sx3(my main host) installed. i also use samplitude, mainly for mastering.
