Martin,
Motto: Keep it simple...
Just did a short design in xpress, it's may not in scale but gives you an idea how you could arrange a plugin. maybe it's to classical but it offers a clear view on a small space. i like wide scale plugs more than than high format ones, because my screen is also wide

btw: the small red lights should indicate internal distortion
btw2: the brown version is for all the cow shit lovers outside

eh...last post done from page one
THAT's the kind of design I love Katano!
No (graphic) bells, ready to edit.
With good thoughts about featers that users like to see!
Martin, here's your man!!
edit.
skins are in, so a special version with OhmBoyz design based on the fantastic cowshit design of Sonolive and cow eyes as knobs (Shroomz/Sharc!) would be perfect!

I vote for this layout!!!On 2006-09-25 13:59, hifiboom wrote:
so I played around a liitle bit with grafic tools and it could look something like this.
this would be the one band version, but
there could be also a 2 or 4 band version.
Its not really complete. still much room for improvement:
-the numbers around the knobs are still missing and the shades too.
-Maybe a lighter background would look better.
-And it could be slightly smaller.
-the knob in the middle should be big sized, because its the most important. scaling fro 0 to maximum.
-maybe a clip LED and an input Gain
-maybe a small VU meter on top to show how much distrtion is occuring. (vintage style)
-not only numbers around knobs, but also scales, Shroomz showed this in his thread:
But I think it still looks better than the original GUI.
Best regards, if you want the background image email me.
by the way the name Razor seems to fit also very nice, because its sharpening the sound, with distortion in a specified frequency band.
If you want I can help you adding the gfx.
Best regards...

And for the 4-6 bands version too...
you know I'm not a fan of the realistic 3D thing at all, but if... it lacks
surface structure of an industrial varnish
deburred holes
the surface around each dial needs a dark ring as fake shadow
the lightning of the meter should be uneven
darker edges around the meter
alternative lighter 'plastic' edges if an above surface view is intended
I know it's just about a conceptual design, but without the points mentioned above it will look cheap and inapt - just a few simple additions, no real 3-d required
On the other hand I'd rather appreciate very simple and ergonomic designs.
cheers, Tom
great UrSpiegelEi - always wanted tohave a peek at one

you're 100% right! even if i don't know which design you commented above. or is it just a general statement? On 2006-09-26 04:29, astroman wrote:

however, i can only talk about my quick design, yes it is just a concept, yes it looks cheap in this stadium... but it's an idea where one could start from. it was not my intention to do a final design, this would take much longer than 20min of course

now i'm waiting for martins design he announced. maybe nevertheless a cooperation with DAS?
