I feel like I am a horny teenager again. I use to go out to after hour clubs when I wasn't onstage, and now I work at one. It seems as though life has it's cycles, I believe mine is upon me.
This is truly the most decadent place I have ever seen. 5000 USD membership required. You gotta be rich or crazy, or an employee like me. X-Rays, and metal detectors, and security looks like they trained at Langley, VA. This is where SFP has led me to.
All music played is on the fringe, no hit records are allowed. I thought at first this would go over like a turd in a punchbowl, but when people pay this much money to hang somewhere, the idea of listening and dancing to grooves that are unavailable elsewhere was a sound desicion IMO. No one asked 4 requests, and the audience was to die 4. Filter sweeps, song morphing, and reversed solos seemed to have worked well. So SFP is going to enjoy a nice stay here. I felt so strange playing w/o a drummer, but the Kyma takes grooves into another world with all of it's audio treatments. Then there's the dancers, or should I say the come and f___ me girls. Damn!! There is talk Fox and MGM doing some film extra shots here. So you see why I am so excited. All I can say is that if anyone thinks Scope is dead, they should see this place. Kyma does do most of the tricks, but the SFP segues have Kyma's 6 in fat synth sounds.
I once again have all my fellow Z members to thank 4 your ideas and help which have taken me to gigs I could not have dreamed of. Quite a turn around from the old Allman Brothers days.
