Hello to all the Pulsar fans!

I just bought a second hand pulsar II card with 4.0 software. I would like to make a upgrade to 4.5 and buy some new synths for it. PLEASE someone help me with some details cause Creamware site is not a friendly one at the moment... Can I get all the software in demo version so I can choose the best for me to buy it? Is there anything like that, and if so what are the limitations. What are the NoKeys.oxe files exactly?

Thanks in advance for your help!!!

Sorry for my bad english...

Regards,
Costi

Welcome
You need to write to rb@creamware.de and register your card.
Shop has beed down, at least this weekend, but as soon as it opens again you can get scope 4.5 + other things there.
Also: There are still summer sale on some devices, think it will end 17/9 - not shure!
There is no demo's any more, but you might get some input here.
The nokey's are devices ypu might install, but cant use without register (buy).
When you buy, you buy a serial no
(serial no are also connected to hardware no)

Get going!

Thank you very much for the info!

I really don't understand why can I probe the software before buying, It has no sense, especially when there is no demo sounds also....

Can I ask you a more favor...

I want to for my Scope card some synths that have a really touch of the vintage synths, can you give me some advices. I will have the Minimax and Modular III cause I will make the 4.5 upgrade. What other synth are good for what I need. I have a Virus C and a Nord Lead 2x but I want something complementary for my hardware synths that will sound really vintage, kind of early '80 sounds.

Also I'll need a very good vintage comp/limiter for my projects. Can you give an example?

Thank you very much for your time.

I know what you mean.. but I personally have put my trust in Creamware's quality.. their synths are always excellent.

The Minimax is basically a Minimoog. Big, fat (sometimes too fat!) sounds is what you'll get out of this beauty. I don't use it in many tracks but when I -do- need that big fat minimoog sound, it fits the bill perfectly.

The Pro-12 I use very often. I have a Nord Lead 2x as well, and the Pro-12 is admittedly similar in architecture. Clavia designed the Nord Lead from the Prophet ideas, but they both have different characters and tweak differently. In some music I use all 4 timbres of the Nord and a few Pro-12's  The Pro-12 has more potential for thick bass sounds than the Nord does, in my opinion. I can never get a hard, punching bass sound with my Nord, it always seems to be lacking in that sense.

I've heard good things about the Prodyssey and really want a copy.. but haven't tried it myself.

With Modular III you can really simulate most of the vintage sounds you need. Flexor adds some more sonic possibilities as well.
Also I'll need a very good vintage comp/limiter for my projects. Can you give an example?
Creamware Vinco perhaps?

all CW stuff sound somewhat classic ....

But if you tell us what you are after we can give recommendations.... and what fits your needs,....

not everyone needs the minimax moog sound, and others don`t like patching in modular....

of course you can do nearly everything with Modular, but you need time, sometimes too much....

Depends on needs. But all CW tools are very useful ATM, just depends on the task.

Thanks for the info.

I have a question also, what is the difference between the proTone and Pro-12, if I buy the Pro-12 I will have also the proTone sound in it.

What can you tell me about the Zarg's software - Solaris v4.0 and Quantum Wave. The Q Wave really sound as a Waldorf? Really has that huge bass sound of the original?

Thanks

the protone is modeled on the pro one synth. the pro12 is modeled on the prophet 5.

zarg is John Bowen. John is one of the creators of those vintage sequential synths. his synths are the standard not waldorf, with respect to waldorf still. scope is the platform that his newest creations live on.

I just got Prodyssey and must say it has an awesome, unique character that complements my Nord Lead 2x and other synths very well. I wasn't expecting much, but am actually very satisfied with the sound. If you think of some music in "Clockwork Orange" by Wendy Carlos they are quite easy to emulate with the Prodyssey.
