Hi!
I wanted to use all of my available VST input channels:
ZLINK A+B: 16
2*ADAT: 16
SPDIF: 2
Analog in: 2
which makes 36 in sum.
But i only get 32 working within SX3, the ZLINK B 5-8 don't appear.
When i disable Analog and SPDIF, all ADAT and ZLINK are working, so nothing is broken in the A16 Ultra.
I tried to create several sfp-projects from scratch and played around with different numbers of input and output channels and so, but nothing helped.
If you have an idea, a hint is very much appreciated!
some VST input channels missing
i'm a little confused as to what you are asking about. none of those inputs you mentioned have anything to do with vst. an a16 can run 16 adat or 16 zlink, not both.
the "vst" inputs would be asio destination modules. there are several different kinds, either 32 channel max or 64 channel max. you can choose one of those modules with the corresponding asio source module. these connect to audio sources within scope, including adat and zlink modules.
there is no way for the sequencer to see the hardware modules(adat, zlink, analog). software can only see either asio or wav modules.

erm.. sry, here a bit more detail:
One A16 ultra: ADAT A plus ZLINK A: 16 channels
One 2496 box ZLINK B: 8 channels
One behringer ADA8000 ADAT B: 8 channels
Luna SPDIF IN: 2 channels
Luna Analog in 2 channels
in sum 36 channels
the term "vst inputs" is exactly how they appear in cubase in the device configuration window.
The ports are numbered from 1 to 32 *and* exactly named corresponding to their port, e.g. "L Luna Analog" or 5 Luna ADAT A.
All are sorted like follows:
first analog then spdif then adat A/B then zlink A/B
So if analog and spdif are active, ZLINK B 5-8 are gone.
the issue again:
all inputs work in a sfp project, in cubase sx3 i never see more than 32, no matter which sfp module and how many inputs i define there...

Cubase/Scope use up to 64 asio channels (mono)
That means you should be able to use all yours.
In Cubase sx they appear as Stereo out 1....32 (max)or Mono out 1...64 (max)
or a combination of these two
What you want to be nr1, nr2 etc you deceide from your routing.
Are you shure you use 32 mono channels in your cubase project, and not stereo?

you're using the wrong asio driver, you should be using the 32-64 channel driver. In the routing window.Read the instrution manual in "I/o and drivers" page 9.

thx for the hints. I checked that:
ASIO2 FLT 64 I/Os
tried 36 Mono channels and 18 Stereo channels in Cubase SX 3.
The result is always the same: 32 hardware channels, from no. 33 on i get displayed a clone of the first, but the hardware-inputs ZLINK B 4-8 are missing.
Here some screenshots:
