I've been trying to make a default project that has VDAT setup to record the whole mix but there are several annoyances:
1) I wanted to have it startup armed and with the gui showing so I didn't have to open it and arm it everytime I load the project (the aim is for this to be my startup project) but it won't let me and always starts up without the gui showing and unarmed
2) It won't accept midi cc's so I can't even set it to start recording with a transport command
3) Worst of all it always seems to startup playing so if I have recorded material on it it's playing that at startup.
4) I also get a message at startup saying "cannot create buffers" which I have to dismiss.
Loading a project with VDAT in
1) I don't think there's a way round this issue, although it's not a big problem really is it?
2) Using the free Adern clock>click module & a VCR module (one of the two, can't remember which & I'm not at my system right now) you can indeed use the transport in say cubase to start VDAT. Atom described this in detail somewhere on the forum, so a search should reveal it.
3) That's odd behaviour. I haven't had that problem.
4) Haven't had that problem either.
The only significant issue we've noticed is that VDAT & the VCR don't seem to update one-another properly (or lets say, as we'd like them to)
I've successfully had the edit feature per track on VDAT loading tracks into soundforge too, although other users report having problems with that feature.
