I am sick of my sucsessful, but sloppy ass folder arrangement. I have always had slight problems due to my lack of computer edicutt. This is unaccepatable, so I am starting from scratch since I have nothing but rehersals till Labor Day. It is a good time to start all over from scratch. So that way I can put Solaris RD,Flexor, and Black Box II in their respective places. These are such beautiful 3rd party accomplishments they deserve proper folders and such. Before I do this dangerous deed, is there anything I should do in regard to folder naming and such. I do consider this a problem, hence the problem solving thread. But all responses will be considered tips, so sorry if I am being a jump around on this matter John Cooper.

No Mas Problemas,
I just did some serious folder swapping, and even found my 4.5 installation folder. Too busy playing gigs has made me weak and lazy. I found all the information I needed in the threads on the Z. What a nice historical forum we have here. I hope to contribute something worthwhile after my new DAW is done.

The only rules you have to follow is that all the modular modules have to remain in that Modular2 modules folder where all the other modular modules are. There you can make new folders and put your 3rd p. modules. This way you'll find these new folders (and their subfolders) on the modular window top. I made a "3rdP" folder for all the other stuff except for FleXor that has its own folder.

All the stuff non modular, standalone devices, you can make folders inside the "Devices" directory to find them at the top of the routing window and in the popup menus for the live bar.

If you have effects that should be inserted in an insert slot, take care to put them in DevicesEffectsMono or Stereo folders, in order to find them in the popup menus for the mono or stereo insert slots.

Inside these folders you can do what you want, add subfolders etc.

If you move a device from a previous location and load an old project with that device, it will just open a dialog asking you where should that device be loaded from, you navigate to the new location, select it and...voila! Resaving the project will store the new location in it.

Thanks 4 The Tip Brotha'Man Alfonso,
This makes good sense to me. I had it organised, but kept adding 3rd party stuff (including yours) and it became obese as an Oberheim SEM. DAW #2 will be perfect, as I will be in on the building and management. It seems as though my DAW man is coming to Nevada to add the finishing touches to it. I thought the bikinis in Las Vegas would be too distracting, so we will be distracted by the bikinis in Lake Tahoe instead. Labor Day weekend in LT will give GaryB a sore neck, I'm sure he will gert over it.

Already Have An Experience Of Space BTW, 4 All You Newbies Who Want To Hear SFP Done Ala Italiano Buy This CD, It's Great Tracks On SFP.
