I bought the last Pulsar in stock at musiciansfriend.com and they said Creamware won't be making any more.

Perhaps because they are the *only* major site I could find that still sells Creamware cards in this tiny country known as the USA and it has been this way for years.

I prefer Sweetwater but look at this:

http://www.sweetwater.com/feature/not_a ... amware.php

"At this time, we have chosen not to carry Creamware. We proudly represent and stand behind Digidesign Pro Tools, the industry-standard digital recording, editing, and mixing solution. Sweetwater has configured more Pro Tools systems - large and small - than nearly anyone else on the planet!"

ummmm... don't ever believe anything a music shop tells you  especially turd-merchants like Sweetwater and Musicians Friend.

The reason you don't find CW cards in stores like Guitar Center etc is because the vast majority of people are just too dumb to use it. If someone wants a CW card enough, there are plenty of places to buy one where you'll actually get some decent support for it, unlike those box-shifters who just don't give a fuck.

Well, I live in Portugal, and I bought my first Scope card just over a year ago, from a USA site called http://www.jrrshop.com . I have no idea of how major that is, but it was a very nice deal for me! I just checked their site to see if they were still distributing CW, but it seems that it will be down for a few days, though...

Exactly... why do people feel the need to buy from a 'big store'? Those stores are like leeches in this industry - pointless middlemen who in many ways control things and hold manufacturers to ransom.

Don't support them - support the small dudes that give you good service like JRRshop or Infinite Vortex etc.

I bet you bought the pulsar II Zlink at 699

MF is correct Creamware no longer sell Pulsar II's. as the new name is Scope Project.

you are correct too. that would be the very last pulsar II sold at MF as everything else is Scope Project at a higher price.

as for dealers selling Scopes here are few I just shipped them scopes from the very latest shipment I received this week.

Pro music Exchange CA
Audiomidi.com CA
JrrShop.com CA
Nova Musik
Musician Friends

Scope platform is a live and well. and we will continue to ship it and make it.

PS: you don't find Stocked Scope at GC but you can special order any creamware products.

as for Sweetwater they are a pro tools dealers and it seems thatthey can not sell Creamware due to an agreement with protools. as i am told by a sales manager there.

Seems like MF carries the full *current* creamware product line (15 products listed):

http://www.musiciansfriend.com/home/nav ... =creamware

And MF is owned by GC...

very true John. MF is another arm for GC and they carry the full creamware products. Scope and ASB

However the item that Braincell mentioned was an old stock of pulsar II and it was place on special price as the last item at that price.

So Gary was wrong.

The higher price for the new card is worth it if you want the mixer or synth package... I think. It was confusing for me. Too many choices of Creamware cards now. I got the Pulsar because I know it works with the wordclock daughterboard I have and the ADAT etc.. Maybe I made a mistake. As I understand it all the 6 chip cards are practically the same. I may keep the old Pulsar and SRB for my studio "B" when I build another computer.

Gary is never wrong. I know that for sure.

the wording of your email could be easily interepreted in a negative way toward creamware. We hope that is not your intention as we are trying very hard to get back on our feet and every rumor may repel a new customer.

the packaging has changed with Scope 4.0 and MF is such a huge company and did not want to change the outerbox of this package and decided to sell it cheaper then the new packeged products.

I hope you can continue supporting us with good words too and email ralf when you register the card and tell him that Ali suggested to flag this pulsar II card with 4.5 version and one of the pack of your choice.

Edit: Pulsar II hardware is the same as Scope Project hardware. Software wise the Project 4.5 comes with more plugin and software. But if you contact Ralf as I suggested. your Pulsar II will equal a Scope Project 4.5

cheers

Wow thanks so much! Of course I do love the SFP or I would not have invested in another one that is for sure. There are a lot of cards on the market. I'm getting into heavy mixing recently and setting up more elaborate SFP projects. I will continue to support Creamware.

 the pulsarII and scope project are the same cards. the software package is different. they haven't been called pulsar since 4.0, but they're still made...

what you got braincell, was old stock(which is just fine, great even!)...the info the salesman gave you was technically correct, but misleading(and i did edit my post minutes after writing it....).
