An investigation lead us to the answer for solving your problem. The answer is - the installer found in the CW site is corrupted. Please, read the following thread to know more.

Hi!!

Thanks... I had the same problem using the original Scope 3c CD too....

I just re installed scope 3c but this time installind OSM first and creating a folder within the OS9 applications folder - then selected that as my install folder. - ALL WORKS FINE NOW,,,

So installing OSM first may have done the trick OR creating a folder to install into.

THANKS !!!!

that Mac installer (I have the same CD) is a piece of crap - it didn't even detect my board (unlike it's older companion on a 2.x CD).
It would have been better to have a complete SFP folder on the CD that one could drag to the harddisk and a hint which items to throw into extensions and what to tell OMS.

thanks for finding out the correct sequence

cheers, tom

Hi!

Yea! - I just wiped my 2 Hard drives installed os9.2 , then OSM and then scope 4 from the downloaded .sit file. All works bloody fantastic.

BTW - People are going on about "you must have official Apple memory and hardware" etc - well, I have put that to the test on my Dual 1ghz MDD G4 that has 2GB of non apple DDR ram - Its Adata ( or somthing like that from my old PC) and it works perfect....and also with standard IDE drives. not a glitch, crash or um..... bang.(fingers crossed)
Thanks to ALL of you for your help in this matter!

I have only been a member of this forum and an owener of PULSAR2 card for a week and now I am glad that I can help you guys out..

- can anybody sort me out with a really good theremin sound ? Just like the one on Logics ES1 ?

All the best - Oliver Davis.

I'm among those folks and I can assure you that you're wrong
Of course the Ram works... exactly that's the point, but it WILL fail in one special event, sooner or later, and noone can tell you when or on what case it will break.
It may come up with a reasonable error message, which will drag you in to actions that never can succeed.
In my case it was a 'database driver file is missing or corrupt...'
An Oracle install isn't anything that you'd want to do unnecessarily and (btw) their installer is even more infamous than CWA's for it's results - which makes the error even more convincing...
I replaced the file in question with an image copy of a system that was verified to work immediately before the copy.
Still the same error - replaced the memory, error gone, put it back in, error returned.
All that sh*t for a difference of $5 or so per stick...

on the other hand I admit that Apple may have changed the machine's firmware in the meantime.
At least the DualG4 in the office hasn't had any 'hoover-breakouts' of it's ill running fan regulator anymore (according to current temperatures it was supposed to have...)

cheers, Tom
