i'm still having trouble with spdif out. i did a clean install of windows on a freshly formatted disk, installed ver 3.0 and all the updates, including the spdif patch and...

nothing!

it always worked fine in ver 2.0.

am i the only one with this problem?

does everyone out there mix to dat? if not, what do you do? i've been trying to think of a way to avoid this. i'm using sonar from cakewalk with pulsar. i'm thinking about routing the mix from pulsar back through a pair of wave dest. and back to sonar to record a stereo mix back to the sonar file. i'm not sure if that's legal.

any info is most appreciated.

Do you have a Pulsar1? If so, then you need V3.01b or whatever the latest patches are, because there was a SPDIF issue with V3. The problem with the SPDIF creeped in because of the really cool new ability to run AC3 Dolby Digital passthrough and SPDIF optical.

If you have a Pulsar2, you should be fine even with V3, but if you are having problems, may as well install the latest V3.01 patches.

BTW - you know you have the unpatched version (that can be fixed with the latest patches) if this workaround gives you sound out your SPDIF:
1. Wire all three connections from "Digital Wave Source" to "SPDIF destination"
2. Disconnect "Digital Wave Source."
3. Now wire the sound you want to hear to "SPdif destination." You should hear audio. Now go patch it

or throw out the spdif module and put it back in again, then save your background project again. this worked for me.
