where did the opium for the british/sino "opium wars" come from? what were the connection between the "russell trust"( better known in the USA as "skull and bones", the secret society that presidential candidtates bush and kerry both belonged to), and the ships that transported the opium from afghanistan to china?
the answers to those questions answer yours.

On a recent-ish trip to New York, I hooked up with a dude who had some very nice hashish. I was pretty surprised to find any hash in the US (when it comes to dope, it's much easier and widespread to cultivate marijuana internally rather than import hash etc from other countries). This guy *insisted* that it was the military bringing it in...
My son who is 32 is over there, and I am proud of his service, and every other relative of mine who is dead or alive 4 their service to Uncle Sam. I have family I've never met buried in France, Belgium, and Arlington cemetary in USA. I believe that this is the honorable thing to do. I do not agree with our policy in Iraq, but I am grateful to the Brits and all of our other allies in this effort. We should be grateful for their service, just or not. And if I could serve somehow I would, as I have before. As far as the opium smuggling goes, they need a gig over there until the rest of the world helps them become self sufficient, so I'm sure that the CIA will keep the pipeline open until it serves no more purpose to them, but they are sneaky bastards, and will dabble in anything they deem nescessary, unfortunately. They do not make me proud, but the past service of my countrymen, and my family have, and I doubt that we would enjoy the standard of living we do without that past and present commitment. There is a castle that my grandfather liberated in France in 1919, those people are long gone, but while they were alive they use to send my grandmother clippings of the newspapers and thank each soldier individually every year 4 their service EVERY year!! This was commendable and made me very proud of my grandfather who was a German immigrant to USA. These people have had children, and they still send letters to my 84 year old father who served proudly also. I hope that people understand where my pride comes from.

It's easy to name (horrible) examples in history...
Which is -of course- another thing than feeling the need to express respect for the victims' individual courage and deep regrets about there lost lifes

Most of the 'cash' in our society is tied up in non-liquid forms such as payroll, investment capital, property and other fully traceable forms. If you were an 'intelligence' agency and needed untraceable income to devote to untraceable activities (sometimes referred to as 'small war') drug profits might just be the thing, no? As an added bonus your 'civilian' workforce can be replaced at any time by being hauled into a domestic court of law under the drug laws.
It would seem to me that a 'drug war' also does a great job of inflating the cost of drugs (ie, profits) and is rather innefectual at actually stopping the flow of drugs, outside of occasional 'headline' generating busts. Here in the US it also has the benefit of inflating the stocks of certain companies. for example private 'management firms' (Wackenhut etc) actually generate profit on wall-street according to how many jails are being built & filled. Also as a corrolary it does a great job of further alienating the population against itself (fear of 'crackheads' and 'druggies' rather than compassion for fellow humans suffering from addictions and such).
Drawing the focus back to Afghanistan, the 'war on opium' was only successfully waged there by the Taliban, who purportedly not only made it illegal under man's law but also their Holy law to cultivate. As opium profits were reported to drop there were suddenly 911 reasons to 'invade' a 'terrorist' nation and 'insure that the opium fields were shut down' (ironic doublespeak for reactivating the flow of opium profits?) But the fact that the Taliban make women a 'lesser class' in Western eyes makes the rest of it easily ignorable in Western media. Let's also ignore the oil pipeline, Henry Kissinger's involvement as 'special ambassador' of Afghanistan within days of the US invasion, the US forces holding 'military exercises' in Turkmenistan etc. conveniently within striking distance of Afghanistan in the 2-3 years just previous to 911, etc etc etc.

The drug war is one of the sickest techniques used by capitalist government to control its people.
Create a mass hysteria about drugs, flood poverty-stricken communties with destructive and divisive addictive drugs like crack and meth.
Divide and alienate different areas of the population by attaching stigmas to each type of drug (part of a greater scheme of cultural ghettoization).
Keep the minds of the masses dulled and stupefied through beer and meaningless TV.
Reap the cash made from all of these in order to pocket more cash, fund more wars and introduce more and more ways of controlling the people.
Everyone's a winner.

Except my less fortunate brothers in those neighborhoods. The CIA was forced to make public apologies to a riot torn community in Watts, and S.Central L.A. on that exact topic. I am shocked that the ACLU didn't jump in to litigate that wave of deception, as it would have been a noble cause IMHO. They prefer to strike down the Ten Commandments, and force the Boy Scouts Of America to accept gay leaders, and abolish the pledge of allegiance. Cowardly lawyers only defend and litigate cases with the least path of resistance.
Many things my government have done are shameful. But it has nothing to do with our troops. They are seperate from the CIA and should stay that way, but since we have declared war on terrorism, I am afraid that many other shameful things are going to happen due to political paranoia, and power struggles in world affairs.
I wish we the people had a real say in our governments affairs, but until John McCain, and other politicians who have served faithfully, and know what goes on and despise it are voted in, we will be puppets and slaves to a sick master who is ungrateful and filled with a terrible remorse.
This is Pearl Harbor all over again.
A real world forum is needed to resolve the worlds problems, not the theiving bastards in the U.N., but a real forum, like the Z. I cherish and love all of our members and am not concerned where they are from or if our fathers were at war against each other in the past. I speak with my brothers from around the world and have not once argued bitterly, but have disagreed, yet we have continued to speak and learn and share, which helps all of us. Are our world leaders that blind that they cannot see that hatred, begets hatred. They should read our postings and learn what a real forum of international people can achieve.
My forefathers who served so faithfully for the real cause of freedom are rolling in their graves. This is not the America they fought and died for. The world has been dealt a shitty hand of poker, and will have to finish it, so we can get a new deck, which hasn't been stacked.
Sorry If I Feel So Strongly About This,
But If I Can't Spill To You Guys, I'm Fucked.

you're right Jimmy, this is not the america we are proud of or would fight to protect. that america is with it's people, not it's elite and it does not involve an omnipotent, flawless, dictatorial government that fears a strong, informed, armed populace with the power and right to correct "authorities" or policies that are in error...
the america you are thinking of is not unjust and does not put it's or any other nation's people into harm's way unnessessarily.
that america may never have existed, but it is worth pressing for anyway. i hope your son is not asked to do horrible things and that he comes home safely.

well, (much of) the afghan stuff wasn't called o-sh*t for nothing - has always been that wayOn 2006-07-04 03:13, Shroomz wrote:

if it wasn't restricted, the price would drop
legalizing it would decrease motivation of consumers.
some are even said to express an anti-legislation attitude that way - wouldn't it be a pity to not have them pay for this type of mental luxory

cheers, tom
he said, making it illegal makes it sell better and for more. if you use/smoke any of this stuff you're paying extra for your brain washing as well as the dope.
he agreed that it might be laced.
old news folks. remember col. ollie north and nicaraguan cocaine back in the reagan admin caught smuggling and planning? ollie went to jail, a cia cargo plane was stopped and caught full of coke(hossenfuss or similar was the pilot's name). since, a former operative has spilt the beans about the stuff being flown in to the sate of arkansas(mr. clinton was the gov at the time working with bush sr.). heroin traffic during the vietnam war as well as US intelligence agencies protecting drug lords in places like laos and cambodia is also well documented...

Thank You GaryB,
He rotates home in 6 weeks. He also has refused an offer by a publicly owned corporation to go to Iraq 4 big dollars. He does not think he could serve with the same devotion in Iraq. I agree. He has done 2 consecutive tours in Afghanistan and will come home ( Aviano, Italy )and visit us in November. I have never seen my grandson. He is 3 years old now, and I wish to see him grow tall. My son needs to become a civilian as he has a family and an extremely beautiful wife who is a dead ringer 4 Sophia Loren with blonde hair. I have been in pain 4 two years, and their recent sucsess in Afghanistan has speeded up his departure. He will fly into Nellis with his family on a Hercules C130 full of pride, not hashish.
