Was a tough recording.. 2 full 2 verse songs in 5 days, including some composing/arranging for one of the songs. It's a shame my friend was sort of sketchy in terms of performance..

Anyhow, here's one of them. You can tell the room acoustics is totally killing the voice recording.. I have bare concrete walls, what can be worse. I wished I'd had brought my wall carpeting from Japan. I still want to go back and fix some of the voice mixing. Tracks sound pretty clean and punchy to me.

Any comments welcome, as it's beena while since I've done a full length vocal piece.

You already mentioned the vocal - so I won't bother saying anything - and I don't know why I bothered to say that either...

The style and sound reminds me of Jamiroquai.

Have you put up a new version? - I could swear I heard some horns (which I didn't really like) in the first version. Is it even the same song? ... Damn I think I'm losing it.
Anyway - great job despite the limitations you listed.
Regards.

P.S - I forgot to mention I just found it a little too long.

oh yeah, I put up the wrong song first, and changed it.

you're right about it being a little too long.. it was a hard balance to strike.. wanted some sort of section that only showed up during the second verse.. but wasn't sure if I should hav repeated the chorus. Atleast in full length anyway.

The original idea was to have last chorus become a different chorus/lead vocal arrangement of the normal chorus, which we didn't really have the energy left to do. Wished we could've done it though.

Ken, you really could earn a very good livingin by working in a pro recording studio, specially in the States, if that's what you want for that matter
not my style, as you know, but it's a great production, very (commercial) 'radio friendly'

thnx hubird. I'll be moving up to NY in a few months, and I'll see where it head off from there. This whole moving to Miami and going to school thing threw me off quite a bit off track, but I'm trying to make my comeback on the musical track. First step involves me becoming a flash actionscript 2 programmer though.

your music programming/playing skills -in combination with your studio skills- are worth gold in a (commercial working) studio environment...
