sounds like you have a good start. A good basic groove, and a well built progression. I wonder where it's heading from here.. is it hiphop with rap? Then it needs little more sonic work to make it sound authentic. Or maybe it's an instrumental? Then you may want to find some interesting incidental samples to spice things up.

Overall I think the mix/orchestration both could use some more life in the high end.

remarkable, I like the sound
I don't like the 'classic' chord changes, it makes 'a band playing' of it, which I regret, but that is taste
And indeed, a voice is needed, and would make the chord progressions possibly more plausible
Perfect (constructed?) drumloop bytheway

Hubrid, I know what you mean about the chords because it has sort of a Beatles sound to it. I don't like the distortion on the piano and the drums have a boxy sound.

I can't imagine this as hiphop. What planet are you from Kensuguro? On the other hand it's so crazy it just might work.

well, you never know braincell, the intent of the writer and the outcome isn't always close. Of course it's not hiphop as it is.

Thanks for the comments, its not hiphop but it is a hip hop beat. The drumloop came from a series of 'free' samples with a music magazine. (when you ask contructed? is this what you mean hubird? - the drum loop is a sample I cant claim any credit for that, though its modified in various ways, high pass filtered to just get kickdrum, reversed at the start, a snare loop put over the top in other parts etc)
I really like hiphop drums but wanted to do something with them that wasn't hiphop (there are a few other attempts using hiphop beats to make music that isnt hiphop on my myspace page). I intended to sing (though not by me, cos I cant really) "it doesnt matter" (just cos it was something I absent mindedly started singing along the way one does)repeatedly over the top, with the tone of the sentiment varying from say resignation, to like you were saying to a friend something doesnt matter, to anger (that something really does matter). I havent got round to doing this & kind of like it as it is, but just wanted to get a few other opinions. Boxy drums (perhaps, I could adjust the reverb), classic chord changes sure, I'm not really sure about the Beatles comment though.
