I'm getting close to finishing a CD. I already have some organisations waiting to use the finished tracks. My problem is mastering...

The material is sort of semi-ambient / soundtrack style so I'm not after the latest super-compressed drum style or commercial radio edit.

But of course I want the best result possible.

Do you think I should master it myself or spend the money and get it done prefessionally ?

I'm inclined to spend the money, but I have no good contacts for this work in my area and have no idea how to tell whether I would be giving it to an expert or someone worse than me !

Any advice or thoughts much appreiated.

You could try me with one track, to see if you like what I do with it
Don't expect topmastering corrections to phase related issues etc., like the bx stuff does.
I just can offer the usual compression and eqing stuff
Not sure if I can do better than you
