In Cubase SX3, in XTC mode, as insert I can use 2 different mode:
1) I can place in first insert slot every single XTC effect (i.e. compressor), then place in second slot another single XTC effect like i.e equalizer, etc.
2) I can place in first insert slot the Multi FX Stereo and then charge inside this one all creamware devices in cascade, and in this case I can leave all sucessive cubase insert slots empty.
The result of the effect chain is the same, but I think that in case (1) the ASIO latency is the summary of FX1 + FX2 + FXn. Because the signal path is insert"1" (that add latency) + inset"2" (that add latency) + inser"n" (that add latency).
In case (2) I think that the ASIO latency is only one: the latency of the single "Multi Effect Stereo", because the signal path of cubase channell is only insert"1" (inside the Multi Effect there is no latency because all FX routing remains inside SCOPE XTC project)
These considerations are right or I'm wrong?
The second case seems to be the best, but the only bad thing is that the chain of effects loose the automation parameters detection. But the overall latency seems to be lower than case (1).
Any confirm about/opinion about my doubt? Thanks.

About the right use of XTC effects as insert...
Tried using automation to write the parameters in text boxes? You should be able to edit them in detail there - I don't know about Live's automation though.chisel wrote:
that I can only edit the text fields when I load an effect through the MultiFX inserts
