Hi all,
I've always been fascinated by this sound and I assume it's made by a Middle Eastern woodwind instrument? - but I have no idea what it is called.
Would someone care to identify it.
Regards

Speaking of ethnic music; my ex-gf got a video of her grandfather's funeral in Vietnam. She let me upload it to youtube. I found the traditional music to be beautiful and hypnotic, especially the string player. I wonder what that instrument is. The band is outside and you can't see them but it is a live band.

Love it. I've heard that before in the call to prayer.

Some time ago I posted a modular patch that can model similar sounds. I have used it in the last track "Vesuvio" of my CD (see my signature), with some slight variation of one of the available presets.

If this is Pedro Eustache playing I would be inclined to think that this is a Bamboo sax. I have rarely heard duduk being played this high. I may be wrong
Are we listening?..
