That's complete genuis. Do you think Aphex's brain might explode before he gets locked up?

I kindly disagree - almost a decade ago there was a Mac software that transformed images (digitized photos) into sound and it got extremely wide coverage in media.
The spectrogram is simply the reverse process, but it looks cool anyway

2DWarper does this. I've typed a lot about this program here.
The only difference is that Warper doesn't seem to put out as many high frequencies as what Aphex Twin used. Of course I tried it and what I got for a wave file is slightly different.

Also, I can put ma wave file into 2D Warper and see the greyscale picture that comes out. What I get is the top and bottom parts of the picture chopped off.

But the result is still there.

Richard James used Metasynth to produce the images in his songs. Any spectrogram will reveal them, assuming you set it up right.

Curious, I also googled about Richard James and Aphex Twins.

Now here we go again hijackin.

Just read sort of interview at
http://www.electroshot.com/aphex/
and I'm wondering about the 21st answer.

Anyone?

You don't know what to believe with that interview, except that he's not taking the questions seriously .. at all. Very funny guy

Nice interview, thanks for the link. I wish more musician interviews were like that instead of the usual self-important wank.

There's no pretentiousness in what Aphex & the Rephlex crew do.

I've noticed Spectrogram can be used in the ultrasound range as well, so here there's a question for experienced people: what kind of interface is needed for the take?
