I've been looking for a free vst fft filter plugin that works much in the same way as the one that comes in Audition 1.5.
I'ts the ability to completely remove specifik frequencies that I'm looking for.
Have any of you guys come across a good one?
Looking for a free fft filter.
don't know if this is what you want, and it is not free

Thanks for the heads up!
The FreEq device at the site you pointed me to, is very close to what I'm looking for. but it lacks the ability to automate which frequencies are being affected, which I know I didn't mention in my original post, but it is a needed feature.
But otherwise it does have an interesting effect and colorization to the sound compared to the Audtion-plugin, which seems to be more clinical to me.
Cheers!

This one called SNIPER by Jonas Norberg is a midi controllable 64 band harmonic notch filter. I think it has the qualities you're after for specific frequency removal & it's also bloody well FREE WHOOpeeE
(yes I'm very happy to find this)

It seems that Sniper is mainly only capable of 'removing' clean waveforms. It's not gonna cleanly remove highly modulated waves or vocals spanning many frequencies, as you'll be left with the expected & undesirable 'hole' in your sound sources' frequency range. Could be usefull for removing a smooth sub bass or bassline from a recording or loop though..
