Gate 2 Midi cc or note?
yes you can,
but i think that the best way is to use amplitude modulator and process the audio signal inside the modular shell.
You should connect the gate out of the gate sequencer to an envelope and the envelope out to tha amplitude modulator modulation input and of course you need the clock generator connected to the gate seq.
If you still want to send midi cc out of the modular, i think you'll need the flexor absolute value or value monitor or the free "to knobs x5" by j9k, assign to the fader or pot a midi cc number and connect it's input to the envelope out.

I second the motion for doing it inside of the modular shell, with very good reason. You'll get a softer 'shape' to your gate if you know how to set things up properly (automating a mute button is instantanious and will cause digital clicks since you will mute when the waveform is likely in a non-zero position).
Also with the addition of sequencer modules (such as from Flexor) you can begin to get into some very interesting rhythmic territories...

thx guys u realy took me a step further in my Quest for a Scope Trance Gate.
But... im still abit stuck because if i use the Amp mod then volume gets 50 % lower than orginal sound plus i get click sounds, if i do it with a low pass i dont get get the lower vol problem but i still get click sounds.
me doing something wrong or is it not that easy too make a trance gate without clicks ?
its all i need for my studio atm since i havnt found a propper soft trance gate, that dont kill the sound too much.. Well thats all for now i hope i find the answer soon

Have a look at the camel space,
http://www.camelaudio.com/camelspace.php.
This thing really adds nice motions to your tracks.
I am on myself trying to convert this multi effect to modular/flexor, just to learn flexor a bit.

well allrdy know this and its nice but i just think that it takes too much sound quality away plus i cant control the steps with a midi controller witch is a realy realy realy big minus and one the reasons why i want too build my own .
I want too use Trance gate on Vocals and Choirs because it just sounds freaking cool for trance/Goa stuff, i have found alternate ways like doing automation on the vol out of Symphonic choirs but it simply takes too much time just too make a 32 step pattern.

You should set the envelope generator to have smoother response of the amplitude modulator and about the output level, it seems to be related to the env generator too, but you can also add a mix gain module to increase the level. On 2006-04-17 22:47, Alex DK wrote:

The easiest way to do a 'trancegate' is to do actual gating. Take a gate/expander and feed its sidechain in Scope from a dummy softsynth/sampler of the simplest kind. Even a soundfont player playing a really lofi sin wave or drum sample would work fine. Drive the softsampler via midi and you get your step sequencing. Or were you going to go external? You can perhaps use STS for this or even a sample pool in the mod shell. Flexor seqs are again a good match here.
One good thing about using an expander is that you aren't necessarily gating it 100%, allowing for rhythmic pulsings without complete chopping (which usually requires a delay and/or reverb to smooth out the feel). Of course in Mod you have complete enveloping control....for instance you might want to try an exponential decay to get really blippy sounds...

Jesus i love u guys
i just build the coolest trance Gate , Beats camelspace by a mile stone and the way i can form the cuts with a AHD env is freaking awesome i know u can do same stuff with camelspace but here i can do ENV is ways i cant do with Camelspace and no quality loss. Answer too all my prayers, i havnt hat my scope card soo long soo realy newbie in modular 2 n 3 but for me this is a giant step in my future music production since now i can use a midi controller with 16 bottons like a BCR2000 too control the patterns and the AHD at the same time AWESOME.. u guys got no idea how happy u made me
let me know if any is interested when i finish it..

ok a little problem i have a feeling that the sync coming from cubase is abit delayed soo the sequencer in trance gate sequence aint realy in sync since it seems like it when i record it then i see that the first 4-5 ms is the clean sound before it get chopped by the trance gate and the trance gate is inserted into cubase mixer by the external FX and set cubase too auto set the delay so the there no supossed too by any sync problems there but the sequence since just abit delayed, what is the best way too sync all my scope modular stuff with cubase
Most people will tell you to mix in Scope rather than Cubase. I do agree with the users here that feel mixing in Scope is superior to Sx, once you get your head around it its not really much different than a real studio workflow.
I can also suggest perhaps just recording the part (mixing through Scope rather than through external effects) and then mix as you're used to.

well thats not gonna fix that the midi clock from cubase too the trance gate is delayed, so it would not matter if i did the fx insert in cubase or in scope mixer the chop would still not be at the right points. and the trance gate was 0.8 ms delayed soo no delay in cubase its just that bloody midi coming out of cubase, have the same problems sometimes with my M-audio midisport 8x8, oh well hope somebody can give me a answer why this just dont sync right
If midi timing is the issue there are a few things you can do:
First off, sequence in modular. Trigger the sequencers with single midi events from cubase that trigger entire measures in modular. Then if there's an 8ms latency issue for the measures versus that measure in cubase you can just shift that single midi event to compensate. This usually works enough because the timing within the measure itself stays tight.
From here you could also record the output as then edit the results (toss into a sampler or run back through Scope etc).
I am aware of the issues that recent Steinberg products sometimes experience, but my personal experience with the midi timing of Scope is solid enough that triggering measures live without having to edit works wellenough. I still prefer to track to audio or resample (especially) for some reason...

MVC gate out---->gateOR module----->Clock divider Start Stop input AND Sequencer module Reset input. On 2006-04-18 18:04, valis wrote:

In this way every note retriggers the whole sequence and if you don't play at all the sequencer modules stop. You set preferably internal clock, and it will be super tight.
