since you appreciate an honest opinion in a refreshingly harsh tone ...
the quote below comes pretty close
...People believe what the want. As do sheep. It's all from the heart, but many hearts are misled & will never ever understand why.

No offence meant to anyone.
you know about the belief of sheep - interesting,
when and about what a heart is mislead,
may call others animals, which of course is no offence...

you asked for it - now I'll shut up again

cheers, tom

Dear Nestor,

I'm sorry you feel threatened when someone disagrees with your view of reality. Most people think like you do and they are seldom challenged. It is time for people who have another view to speak up rather than remain silent. We all should have the right to express ourselves which I did in a civilized way as a reply to your musing about the nature of the universe.
Thank you for answering Braincell, that’s cool.

You have assumed, because of the way I wrote to you those words, that I pertain to some particular religion or church. In fact I don’t. I have never said I belong to any religion.

I didn’t feel threatened by your view Brain, I felt upset, which is quite different. You would be quite surprised if you were to know me personally and we were to have a long conversation together, many of your own very thoughts match with my own way of seen life, you see?

To express opinions in a respectful way is fine, of course, who could disagree with you there? But there are opinions that it doesn’t matter how innocently you may express them, or with how much right, will harm people’s feelings for nothing, as these opinions will not change them.

I think it is not only what is allow to say in a forum, there are many things that are allowed or socially correct that are negative to people, so this is the point. The point is “not to harm people’s feelings” just because it is allowed or possible.

The point is very simple: behind religions, there are people and people’s deepest feelings, so it is better perhaps to let them alone.

But well, this is not so important anyway, let move on.

Music is not "all about sex". That's complete BS btw.

There's the craftsmenship, artistic expression, intellectual sensation of the notes - but there's also the dance and body sensation as simply a part of the mating ritual of the homo-I-dunno-what species.

it's all about sex

and since the majority of those under a some age are probably more interested in engaging the lower than the upper parts of the body the simple facts of life apply...
for simplicity I quote myself to bring the BS statement into context again

regarding the folks Nestor originally referred to (and additionally the heavy rotation airplay 'crap') it's of course all about sex - in one or the other context.

either a dude wants to impress the chicks by making himself a 'DJ', musician, producer etc - right out of the box without any talent necessary or the music is played as a catalyst in various situations from the car to the caffee to the club or wherever people meet to find a partner

certain movements trigger certain hormones and there's an undeniable visual stimuluous as well - never seen a videoclip on MTV ?
what is it that sells ?
what about that recent Sharon Stone movie or Miss Ambrosia ?
what about all those please-f**k-me-looks on record covers ?

of course that does NOT cover ALL types of music, as mentioned above, but the thread is about a specific section of the spectrum

and don't assume that it's any different in Jazz or even Classics and the Opera
you may have missed last years Anna Netrepko hype (culminating in 1500 Euro offers for Traviata tickets)

cheers, Tom
