How do you all handle switching between mono and stereo in the STM? I'm using the 2448 and everytime I switch between a mono and stereo input, my connections get messed up. I need to always manually reroute the connections. I don't know if my connection will be mono or stereo from song to song, so I'm always switching back and forth. I was thinking about dedicating a group to stereo channels and just mute them when I'm not using those channels as stereo. Is there a better way?
hi
I use all stereo, except a couple of instrument INS (eg chn 21-24)
In Cubase, instead of sending a mono track to eg 8 OUT LEFT, i send to 8 OUT STEREO and use panning inside Cubase.
I used to have one project pr song, with dedicated pre's, but after a while it became quite a mess
each project is different from the other,
so i do my connections from scratch every time i start a new project.
To manage connections with stm is very fast using the popdown menu under the device section.
Well, I found a method that is pretty close to how a real mixing board works. I route all connections to mono channels. Then, if I need a stereo pair, I link the two faders in the 2448 and pan one hard left and one hard right. Works like a charm!

gee, patching is easy and only takes a brief moment in life...in the old days, you'd have to actually manage cables....
with a little practice, patching won't take any longer than mute/unmute channels. there's a point where it's just called lazy....
Of course, if you ignore all the bugs in the modules
( Try doing it in stm16s )
