PCI Master overflow at 2. Masterverb pro
Hi
I know, that i could search the forum for my Questions.
But in english its a bit too difficult to read out what i need and what i do not need.
So...
Like written in the Subjekt i´ve got PCI Master overflow after loading the secound masterverb pro in an ->empty<- projekt.
After pressing retry i could load a third...
same Window!
load the fifth masterverb it do not help to press retry the window comes up again and again...
Could that be a CardError?
On creamware account the card is named scope !NFR! what does that mean? (!NFR!)
Its an old card.
(! Not For Reverb ! xD)
Is there a Tool for monitoring PCI bus?
I´ve tried every Pci slot / I´ve set the Graficcard latency to 64 (perhaps wrong dont now) / disabled everything in Bios / no irq problems ( irq 16 or 17 if i remember right)
My System:
Athlon64 3800+ x2 / Epox 9nda3 (nforce3 ultra) / 1 gig ram / 1 Pulsar Scope (15DSP)
nvidia 6800 AGP
Thx for Help
sorry for my english!!!

nfr means that it was once a dealer sample(Not For Resale as new). it is not a bad designation, just an older card. no, the problem is likely in your computer.
what else is on the pci bus? any scsi cards or networking? you say there are no irq problems, but the only way to tell is to check for sharing. go to start/programs/accessories/system tools/system information/hardware resources/conflicts-sharing. look for the creamware card, it shouldn't be there. the exact irq of the card is not so important, although theoretically, some irqs might be a little better than others....

Hi
Thx for your reply
I have NO other cards in PCI slots
Networkcard is onboard. (tested to switch it off ... nothing changed)
The card has an irq for itself.
yesterday i could not write exactly because i ve got 2 WindowsXP 1 for music 1 for all the other things
by the way ... nearly the same probs with my old Prozessor athlon64 3000+
perhaps u or someone else could explain me, how to check the pci Bus AND how to change pci latency. (I did changes but who knows if i do right!)

try to clean the gold card contacts with a swab and 99% or purer alchohol.
i doubt if it's a pci latency issue. be sure that the hard drives have dma enabled. a dual boot might not be the best choice, although many have used dual boots quite successfully. was it a fresh install of windows, done after a repartition and format?
pci latency should be set where it works best. i usually set it to 96, although many use 64 or 32. this setting may improve performance slightly, but it won't change 2 mverbs into 10.

Hi
ok i will check the contacts.
Why u think dual boot is not so good?
The systems are for its own.
where do i look for the DMA for harddrives?
do u mean ultra dma5 ultra100 ?? thats selected for all harddrives
it was a clean install on a new Harddrive.
->with new motherboard i had to! only thing changed is the Prozessor.
oh perhaps interesting: If the card was in an specific pci slot (slot 6 i think ->the one :argh my english: farest away from the grafic card
mg: xD) it was slowing down my hole system.

and when you installed the other windows was the first unpugged? was either install a repartion, reformat and install(frsh install)?
are both drives connected and called "c"?
you want to save audio data to another separate drive(as tape), although that's not your problem.

I did not own the music windows HD if i was installing the other windows...
but like u say -> not the problem
music win is on C:
could bad contact cause the problem?
is the card working if a contact is bad?
i will clean them this evening (no alcohol at home)

that's not what i say.
i said that the fact that a separate hd to save audio data to is preferable. THAT'S not your problem.
the issue of how the installation was done is most likely source of the problem...
DO NOT use alchohol of less than 99% purity. this really could be a source of the problem, don't touch the contacts with your fingers....
the music hd is "c", good, what is the other hd's letter?

that IS interesting, perhaps you have a bad motherboard....On 2006-03-17 02:08, AndreL wrote:

how old ? do you have a booklet/box with a date printed on ?On 2006-03-17 00:37, AndreL wrote:

Its an old card. ...
there have been (rather few) Scope boards with 15 DSPs and the IO architecture of the Pulsar One. The latter cannot do more than 5 (regular, non-pro) Masterverbs, so you might repeat your test with the more standard version.
Anyway, if your card has no piggy-back IO board (where Adat and cables are connected), then it's most likely a so-called 'generation one' card with the slower PCI (5 MVs versus 12-16 MVs on current boards)
cheers, tom
Hi

(Scope) NFR 19.05.1999
