i use my QS8 faders to control mixer in cubase just fine with generic remote
by when i try to do it in scope
it seem like ot's working only on 1 track only like
: i assign 1st send knob to ch1,#71
2send >72
3send>73
4send>74
and when i go to track2 ,make it >ch2
it 's not working also made the ch1 lost too
the tutor doesn't cover this area
so any one can shed light on me please?
thnx

hi,
it's not totally clear what do you mean for track 2,
but what i'm sure for, is that the sfp mixer can receive cc messages on the same midi channel for all controllers.
If your controller has the ability of switch the midi channel for the use of the same faders for more operations, you'll need a midichannel converter and a control change converter.
There is some nice device to do it, some free and some not.
there is the free midi transformer by alfonso

or the modular + flexor

or the midi tool box by wolf http://www.worldless.com/sfp/

or, if you don't need to control the stm directly from scope, there are some midi converters as vst plug ins, such as http://www.planetz.com/forums/viewtopic ... forum=31&1

hi
thn
yes my qs8 has only 4faders and assign them takes lot of actions
so i permanently commit them >71,72,73,74
but it can switch to 1-16channels
so when i mix in cubase ,i assign
ch1,71,72,73,74 >audiotr1,2,3,4
ch2,71,72,73,74>au5,6,7,8 ......
ch16>pan....
this way i have to only change midichannel in qs8 which is a breeze ,then goon with faders automation
i'll try alfonso's device and see whether i can have easy automation in SFP or not
thnx again

i've posted a reply on the device section,

i think the alfonso device is good for midi channel conversion, but limited for multiple cc conversion on the same channel.

the wolf midi tool box, the flexor and some j9k device, are good for cc conversion.

you might consider building your 'own' mixer from some 'channel' devices (from the SFP mixer menu) and a (more or less dummy) Micromixer to sum them up.

this way each channel strip can be assigned a dedicated midi channel.

it's a bit of wiring, but not too difficult
4 stereo 'channels' thus feed a basic micromixer (set to stereo on each input as well)

you could use this for the channels that require frequent volume changes, the channels which don't change much (for example single outs of a sound module) could be fed to additional channels of the micromixer - or even get their own (micromixer).

the midi lines have to be merged, btw
just an example to give you the idea

cheers, tom
