I'm using a SFP Pulsar board, Creamware Scope 4.5 and Logic 5.10. Fresh install on a XPpro system. Trying to use the soundcard for recording in Logic but none of the plugins will work. They load but when I try to use them I get the message "error code -1 was returned by the ASIO driver"
If I leave Scope turned off and use an external usb interface (xstation) the plugins can be opened but just block the signal without processing. I've tryed with XTC mode on and off. Of course with XTC on I'm told it can't be used with "another Creamware product running" when I use Scope as Logic's audio driver. It still loads the plug-ins but I then get the same error code.
I've learned alot from these forums but still can't figure out XTC mode. Could anyone send me a project to replace my xtcproject.pro? If you think that's the problem, of course.
Going a little crazy here. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Logic and XTC hell p
most likely, your problem can be fixed by reinstalling logic right over the top of the old logic install. there is a lot of info on setting up the xtcproject.pro in the xtc forum. it's just the same as setting up a scope project, only you can't use mixers...
i have logic 5.51 and xtc mode works just fine on it. the question is why in the hell would you want to use xtc mode? logic, especially, is bad for xtc as there is no delay compensation...
maybe help with scope mode would help you more.....

Well thanks for the replies. The only reason i have for wanting to use xtc mode is to use the creamware plugins. Kinda sick of the native logic stuff. Like I said if the creamware project is running I get an asio error when trying to load a plug in, hence my question "can I use the plugins in Logic while using the scope mode" (mixer and router)?? Is anyone else able to do this? I spent yesterday and today going through the forums and have been working with daws for 8 years now. My apologies if this sounds redundant. Symbioti, I have tried every combo of xtc enabled/disabled I can imagine and I feel it could be a routing problem. Garyb, if you're using XTC and it's working can you send me your project.pro or whatever project runs in xtc mode to make the plugins work in Logic? I really appreciate the help people. . .really,

it's not the project that makes them work.
why can't you use scope plugins in scope mode? logic even has an external device plugin if you're allergic to the scope mixer...or try my first suggestion. for xtc mode to work, xtc mode must be enabled by checking the box on the general settings page, then scope must be closed(all with logic closed), then open logic.
do you need help with the routing window? if you do edit the xtcproject.pro(intructions in tips and tricks AND xtc forums), you must still understand the routing window although you shouldn't need to edit that project to get things working since at least 3.1a....
my project has modules for my cards and i/o and it won't be a lot of help to you. anyway, as i said, you shouldn't need anything special for it to work, although you may want to customize the project for your particular needs. if you don't know what that might be, you don't need to think about it, i guess.....
also, as i said, there is NO compensation for latency in logic. why do you want to create phase errors and micro delays on tracks?

Actually, in Logic 5.5.1, if you look at the Audio Preferences page, at the bottom, there is an option for "plug-in delay compensation"
hudsonia, have you tried to completely close the SFP application before loading Logic? Not just minimizing it, completely shutting it down. THEN you start Logic. You can't use SFP mode with the routing window and XTC mode at the same time.

Ahhh thankyou, now we're getting somewhere. I'm NOT partial to XTC mode (though sometimes phase errors and micro delays are just what I'm after) I'm happy to use SFP mode. I'm starting to think that if I'm in SFP mode I should toggle out of logic and set up any creamware effects on the STM 1632 using bus sends in the logic mixer. Am I getting this? Sorry , never had such a tough time understanding software or hardware. I must be getting old. I assume I CANNOT USE MY CREAMWARE EFFECTS AS VST EFFECTS IN LOGIC WHILE IN SFP MODE (using the card as my asio I/O) Thnks for your patience,
hud
In XTC mode with SFP shut down I load logic and the plug-ins (masterverb for instance) show up in the vst folder in the logic mixer (environment). Great. I select the reverb, it opens (after saying I can't use xtc in acceletor mode???) and then the sound stops coming through that channel. If I hit bypass on the logic plugin frame I hear sound again. That's why I thought it might be a routing problem in the xtcproject.pro

sorry about the delay compensation error, it's been a while...
the accelerator mode message is a hint. in xtc mode using a card with i/o, you MUST use the creamware asio i/o. if you just want the card to run in xtc mode without using the creamware i/o then you need to remove the i/o daughtercard and insert a plug in it's place. the scope i/o is very high quality, near the best in the business, so you might be ok using it.
well, that's my guess at your present problem...i hope it helped.
