Since I can't find my old MC-500 user's group, I hope the moderator will let me slide on this post. After all, I will be using this with the Scope platform.
Years ago I sequenced alot of symphonic material, along with Weather Report, and Mahavishnu Orchestra. I tweaked it for years, from the QX-1, and MC-500 MKII, to SMF. I lost my MC-500 MKII in Australia during a load out. Needless to say, I just aquired the sequencer on ebay for a meagher 75 USD. I still have the files in SMF, and need to convert SMF to MKII. Are there any takers out there? For all my old links are no longer active, and I really loved this sequencer for its reliability and want to infuse it with my Scope boxes.

Any Tips On This Matter Would Be Appreciated,

I'm begging for any tips on my beloved MC-500MkII. I believe the old name for the software was Ucopy. Helps you copy and duplicate discs from PC and sequencer.

Thanks In Advance,

I am willing to try something since I still have my MC-500 MkII.
Send me one of those .SNG's from your diskettes. I'll see if I can convert it to .mid here. It doesn't take that long, he?

edit: Send me the SMF's and I'll convert them. I know how to make it so you will have MC-500 disks when I send them back.(I originally misunderstood what you wanted converted to what)

I called the people at the first link. Their software only works in Win 98. Too bad...

Dear Pulsarians,
I recently discovered the company I need to purchase software from. It is Giebler in N.Y. I will have to use my internet computer to run and convert the software, using a dual boot w/ Windows 98 SE. That's fine, and thank you guys for your help. I have lots of old Weather Report, Mahavishnu, Return To Forever, Wagner, DeBussey, etc. All done with old EMU samplers and such. This journey back in time will be interesting to say the least. Thank You Sirs.

Peace Through Superior DSPs,

Will have on Wednesday the 15th. My friend uses a MC-500MkII w/ the same suite of utilities. Transfers from Sonar4 to an Alesis HD24 ( vox. ) and syncs w/ MC500MkII for Midi, no onstage DAW and all backing vocals plus I know he isn't playing those kick ass horn licks and playing lead synth. Sometimes he overstates his talents. But for 15 years the MC500 has never crashed. Now thats what I call solid. Since I will be cheating vocally, I will be using the same seq. w/ VDAT for vocals. Won't be till this summer, but I'm preparing as we speak.

I Will Let You Know By Friday,

To Paulrmartin.
Software is the cure for me. For I refuse to use a bloated code sequencer on a computer for live gigs. I still have the ultimate faith in my QX-1, and MC-500MkII, and even if I just use them for program changes, Scope seems to work w/ external sequencers, and FX routing to Lexi's flawlessly. I will be triggering vocals this summer w/ the MC-500MkII, and who knows I might even start sequencing some of the more dance orientated music.

A part of my business is putting together MIDI files for people who sing in bars. Sometimes my distributor turns them into .kar files for those who are too lazy to learn the lyrics(or those who like to have karaoke parties in their livingrooms).

I've been using the MC-500 since 1987 and I still prefer to sequence GM MIDI on my MC-50 MkII than doing it in Logic.

Glad that Giebler program did the job for you
Are we listening?..
