pci capacity limit reached
it happened with stm2448 and 24 asio2 as well.
it happened when i just recorded a reason rewired song and tryied to playback.
why can't i use many asio io's?

I get this error sometimes when the Firewire and NIC LAN transfers are running hot... Seems like the DSP cards don't have enough time then to do their thing on the PCI bus.
ARCADIOS, have you recently added a PCI device, maybe one that likes to keep long time connection to the PCI bus?

did you check the support section on the Scope 4.5 manuel?
check the topics "error messages" and in the optimization tips "BIOS settings"
I use to have this messages a lot, but now after tweaking the systems, I very seldom see them.luckely nothing bad happens (like crashes) just press retry and go on with you projekt.
good luck

So you are using 64 (mono) 32bit float ASIO channels to, and from, your application? That's 128 different 32bit float channels running over the PCI bus. That might be a bit much, so if you also add sending a video over that PCI bus to the vidcard, then the PCI capacity limits reached message is fairly normal. On 2006-02-03 04:53, ARCADIOS wrote:
i have loaded "asio fit64"
so i use 32 stereo asio io's on stm4896.
when i try to play a video file the system says "pci capacity reached........."
any solutions?
Try reducing the number of ASIO channels to the amount you actually use/need.
Looks like a mediocre motherboard design to me. I had fairly bad PCI problems with intel systems (Asus P4PE and P4C800-E) but the new system (AMD64/Nforce3) is amazing, haven't seen a PCI error except when I loaded 15 masterverbs
Did you try the PCI latency tools which were recommended to you here:

PCI Dawg for example is really not very difficult to use at all.

I once had a massive PCI overflow problem when I bought a defective motherboard. I returned it for another one of the exact same kind, and I never had another problem again. But it usually is attributed to a faulty chipset. What motherboard and system chipset are you using, Arcadios?

well i use abit ic7g.
prescot 3.0
478.
2gb ram
today i managed to put the pro14dsp card on the 2nd pci slot(had problems with too litle space for sata plugs), and pulsar6dsp on the 4th pci slot.
thats the normal way since i use as 1st the big one without the need of entering "bordid0 and 1" at cset.ini file.
i tested like this:
i loaded all asio2 channels with stm48965.
i opened a nuendo project of 32 stereo asio in and outs.
i loaded many wavs at nuendo and put them play all together.
i loaded a video file in nuendo while this video file was playing... (it was me singing Hai gia vinta la causa, aria of conte from le nozze di figaro, mozart)
at the same time i played this video from a windows player.
at the same time fl studio rewired a,d reason playing rewired.
well the cpu went up to 100%, but no pci message.
latencys: 96 for scopes and 32 for rest stuff
i don't know if it is the order of the cards that made it more stable.
but ok, it seems fine now. i hope it stays like that.
