This is the latest thing I have managed to finish.

My first real attempt at vocal harmonies.

Used a lot of Scope FX during tracking, and the Optimaster and Psy-Q for mastering.

Constructive comments welcomed and appreciated.

Fascinating.

29 people have looked at and/or heard this song and not one comment...I guess I really suck!

Oh well, back to the studio.

I guess I better put my techno hat on if I want any feedback on this forum.

Actually

I like this as well, its got a nice melody, it sounds a bit dry, but that could be due to my using a stock PC boom mic headset at the moment.

Levels sound great and if you tracked the kit and the bass, my hat goes off too you

As far as feedback goes, dont feel bad, my posts usually get much in the way of feedback and I make electronic music mostly.

I guess its a review = review and some times I find it hard to spend the time I would like to on this forum thought, RL calls.

Cheers!

Thanks guys!

It's all me. The drums are loops from Big Fish Audio's LA Sessions disc, but heavily processed using Psy-Q and Optimaster and EQ.

this one also has that brit rock feel.. but then again I'm not a rock historian so I'm not too sure. The harmony part is great, the other parts could use a bit more "drunk in my own song" feel, like you're intoxicated by your own song.

That's cool advice...neat visualization.

I'm having a hard time with the verse delivery.

I liked it. Good feel in the verse and chorus but I'm not sure about the bridge (it goes on almost as long as the chorus and feels like a bit of a drop from the verse). Have you tried dropping the bridge between verse and chorus altogether and seeing how it sounds?

Keep up the good work!

The strong element is definitely the vocal harmonies! I find it so nice that the rest of the piece appears a bit bland. I wouldn't remove any element but possibly add a counter-melody to the voice during the verses, just to balance things and fill the gaps between the sentences, because the rythm section does not do it. I'd say give us more of those nice harmonies, more harmonies, more harmonies!!! I love vocal harmonies, does it show?

Clamhead: I'm thinking that maybe the bridge should only happen once. I will try it without.

eliam: thanks for getting the point of the sparse verses. I am all about dynamics. I think it is important to have a song "go somewhere".

Thank you both for the feedback!
