'Bring it Back' 3 minute pop :)

Post by xenigma »

Just a little three-minute pop song made using Scope and LAP. Any comments from you guys would be appreciated as I can't be objective about the song any more due to listening to it around fifty times today during mixing! I like it though

I'd work on the vocal mixing a bit more. Generally, the sound is okay, but the vocals kind of "float" on top of the mix, and doesn't sit quite well. I like the old school uk rock style ala david bowie style singing tho. Wouldn't call it main stream pop, but it still has its historical values. This sort of raw vocal power is most called for these days, but with a little more production magic. Good work tho.

I agree with kensuguro about the vocal production but like the song, the vocal and guitar particularly.

I hated the 80's but now strangely see something valid in it.
Anyway....
I agree with kensuguro regarding the vocal mix. Perhaps you could try some subtle double tracking and boosting the harmonies.
Maybe restrict the usage of modulation effects on the guitar to the chorus sections.

Cheers
