Trying a very slim, lean atmosphere with no filler gunk. Sounds like stuff that they'd play in a designer cafe with fancy sofas and stuff, with expensive coffee and more than enough gay men in tight fit tanktops. I don't appreciate that world at all, but somehow they seem to blend well with this sort of sound.
could be just repetitious, depending on how you listen to it. Listen to the lowpass saw lead. I did a filter sweep on the background pads, and I tried to follow the harmonics with the lead. Couldn't quite get it but it was a fun idea.
Again, it's a bunch of a1 synths with some sampletank. Took the advice of not making the final signal too hot. seems to have calmed things down quite a bit.

I don't know about fancy sofas and gay men in tank tops - but this would play equally well in my car as a travelling tune or as a chill track in a club/cafe.
Mix is nice and warm and reminds me of summer.
For me there was enough variation to escape the repetition demon - but this sure would go well with some female vocals.

This is exactly what i think about when i hear this track. On 2005-12-01 10:45, kensuguro wrote:

Jokes aside.
I am not gay and i hate tanktop's.
I do not drink coffe and my sofa is a
second hand soffa that my mother gave me as
a present.
But i do love this track. Very smooth and
very mellow. Makes me wanna "read the sky".
Only one thing. I definetly think that the BassDrum is mixed too high.
This is not much but still, it holds my "emotions" back.
But i'll give you a 9 out of 10 for this track.
I love it.
I f you would mix the BD lower i would give it 10 out of 10 and listen to it every night before going to bed

No! attack is perfect and tone is yummy. On 2006-01-03 10:10, kensuguro wrote:

BD is way too loud for me.
I like to take ALL the drums out of something and if it can't survive by itself then something's wrong. For me too much music relies on a never-ending drum loop or 4/4 BD for it's cohesion.
Best part of this tune for me are the little breaks, like at 3:40. But when the BD and bass come back it's like a steam-hammer thumping all over the delicate little structures you've built.

Awesome atmosphere ken, and to my ears it's a very professional mix. I love the e-piano stabs, they sound PERFECT.
..and IMO, the kick drum is fine - I like a good rhythm to keep the music moving.

Nice track... Smoooth.
I love the triangles when they comein, gives it a nice swing, this has a minimal funkiness to it, which is cool to hear from you Ken since most of your tracks are very elobarate compared to this one.
I am always amazed at how musicle your tracks are, its refreshing and this just feels like some smooth house music for sure.
Great track!
