Its been a while since I last posted some new music, so here is a remix of Jette Ives in the presence of, she has a very seductive vocal in this track so I figured I would create something agressive which is entirely different from the original.

To many plugs to name, but STM2446 was the mixer of choice and pre-mastering was done with a chain of plugs with the final as OptiMaster (love that plug). Lots of CW devices and plugs especially filters.

I am posting a 128bit MP3 Lame Encoded, for some reason WaveLab is not playing nice and wont give me a nice clean sounding MP3, hell even WMA128 is sounding better, hope no one minds the distorted quality much.

Anyways, I wanted the vocals to be the front and center icon of this track, so I built a sort of beats and bass style trance toon with various elements from rough to smooth sounds.

Hope you all enjoy!

Cheers!

It's great that it is so different from the original.

I was going to participate in this because I actually know Holmes but I didn't want to because of the Sony DRM scandal, also it seems like there would be too much competition. He said I could remix it outside of the contest. I hope to do something with him in the future. Let us know if you win. Holmes said he wanted to enter it but he uses a Mac and Acid is for the PC. Would it be fair if he entered a contest to remix his own music and won? I think he must have been joking.

I noticed that NIN has a contest at the same site.

Thanks!

I really like the vocals "alot"... They have this sort of sin city vibe to me, and they are extremely seductive. I wanted to make something entirely different than the original yet try and still capture the vibe that these vocals set out to achieve.

I enter the AP contests from time to time, I base them entirely on the vocals, not the artist, as an example the chemical brothers and NIN's contests. I cant stand the vocals and original tracks so I did not bother with them hehe.

As far as the competition goes, thats what makes it fun to enter then, you never know if your track will win, and if it does, the kudos and free apps are always a plus.

In the end its all about having fun and getting a chance to occasionaly built what you feel is a gem around a vocal you would otherwise not have a chance to remix.

Cheers!

Well its hard to explain how I decided to go about the development of this tune. Its sort of like segments that do not truelly flow directly into another, I mean they blend with out fighting, but I wanted to try and capture a certain vibe with the vocals.

There are detuned pads running in different direction to create that sort of swanky vibe hehe.

The little grand hits just was sort of like the good versus evil, the vocals have the darkness to them, and I wanted the track aggressive, so he keys represent the softer side of things.

I think this go round, I went with more of what the vocals made me feel like, and stray some what from conventions, just felt dark and evil.

Cheers!
