Hi
I hear typical adat clicks when a sample is triggered from my akai s6000 sampler.(the sampler is attached via adat to project cards) I tought it were the toslink cables but someone said I had some wordclock issues. My sampler isn't connected to wordclock but can this be the problem? Do I need a syncplate to let this sampler work with my CW cards?

Hoi,
I used to have a similar setup, in which the S5k used to be ADAT master of the Pulsar's if I remember well. It worked great...
Have you tried reversing the master/slave relation or switching the ADAT cables?

hoi cream,
It's been a couple of years, but I'd put the Akai as master (internal clock), send an ADAT cable to Pulsar, and slave Pulsar to that incoming clock.
An optional ADAT cable from Pulsar to the Akai can be used to slave the Akai to Pulsar's clock if Pulsar's not too happy with the clock from the Akai, and to record to the Akai. I don't think we had ADAT going into the Akai, in any case we used AKsys (USB) to upload PC-recorded and -edited samples on the Akai. If the Akai's slaved, set in it's menu to slave to ADAT.

Cream, we've got an S5000. It might be best to send an xtra lightpipe to the sampler & slave it as Atom suggested. At least if you do that, you can try the multitrack harddisk recording capabilities of your sampler. With a decent harddisk inside, your Akai will record 8 channels straight to disk, which can give a very different sound to recording on your DAW & sending samples accross to the sampler, but both ways are good for different tasks & purposes
