When I load the Pulsar Mixer 2448, Pulsar crashes during the loading procedure of this device.
My config:
PIII 700 Mhz, 384 MB Ram, ATI Rage 128, Ethernet, Win98 lite, Pulsar 3.01 Pro Pack
Can somebody confirm this? Any ideas?
Thanks,
Eurocide-HQ

Here, too!
Config: W98SE, P3/500 on Asus P3B-F, 384MB Infineon selected RAM, Ati Radeon VE,...
But: It doesn´t crash always, sometimes it loads normally at once, sometimes I have to relaunch Pulsar one or two times...
What could it be then?

I checked the MSVCRT.DLL and noticed, that it has the actual Version 6.00.8xxxxxx
All appearances of this DLL in my system have this version. No problems with them so far...
Yes, sometimes Pulsar mixer loads normally from time to time.

This seems to be a general 3.01 bug.
It doesn't happen in 3.0 .

Sorry, but I had this problem in V3.0, too, not only 3.01

Ok, I found the reason: it´s not CW´s fault, this msvcrt.dll is a runtime library of Visual Studio 6.0, microsoft knows about similar problems with different other progs and provide an update patch...

Never crashed for me on V3 or V3.01, what other software do you have installed?

I just run Cubase VST 5.1 together with Pulsar. But the error occurs also when nothing else is running. Even after a reboot.
I just downloaded the Library Update directly from MS. We will see what it brings (or not)

If you're running Win98lite, this is probably a cause of running the Win95 shell, put back in the full explorer, it doesn't effect performance and the errors go away

After several tests with the old/new DLLs I found no reconstructable solution for the problem.
Sometimes Pulsarmixer starts without complaint and sometimes it crashes...
No reboot is necessary between two attempts only a Pulsar restart (of course).

Yah, I guess I was a bit too fast with that dll solution. Didn´t work for me either.
But in my case, I found out that pulsarmixer loads 95% sure if I kick my cfos DSL driver before starting pulsar...
