He kept me on the right track, as I hope
The Virus has the lead, modulation with filter, resonance, envelope time, specially LFO-rate, and release time, all by Erique, in one move

No major changes expected, only details could be changed...unless you get me on something

Update 4.5? Let's not forget what it was all about...
Hope you njoy

09-12-05. EDIT: version 2 has a much more pronounced Virus lead sound, it's louder now, and I did some dynamic edits on it, to ad more dramatic feel

nice sounds (although i'd like the synth to 'grranulize' sooner, like in the beginning to keep things interesting... the 'intro' keeps going for quite a bit).

i miss some kind of flow throughout the track. it's there, but too late in the track. for me at least.

I agree it gets very interesting later on. Starting it out like is too easy.

thanks Braincell, dunno what means 'starting it out like'...?
I gues it says 'no need to extend the track this way'?

There's intentionally a (long) intro for the dj, you got that already I gues.
The first part of 8 bars is just for syncing, after that it's up to the dj (if ever any

At first we even didn't have the first long Virus part, as Erique wanted the track 'minimal' (he's into the new minimal techno).
That's why I left Virus part 1 hidden a bit, as the second virus part is also long enough

A couple of hours ago he phoned me to tell that the whole Virus part isn't loud enough, at least on the system on which he was trying it out, in a small club that is.
If you like, you could contribute to this with your opinion

thanks anyway

edit: sorry to bump this, but I oploaded a version 2.
the virus parts are (much) louder now, and I added dynamic changes, to give it more tension (assuming it has any  ).

I leaved the intro part as it was, it doesn't matter so much, as I see it.
maybe Erique will come with some changes, I'll see

thanks for comment, got it more clear now...
cheers.

personally would have liked a more cutting sound to it, but the warm round sound as it is has its own flavor too.

For me, it's between electro material orientated for club playback, and then the electro generated on stuff like csound and max/msp. But the max/msp stuff tends to get much more crazy and.. well, crazy. like in a bad way.

yes, very nice sounds... too minimal for my taste, as i like more hype stuff... but i will still give my musical opinion of it.

i thought the song would have been alot more interesting/ stayed interesting if the bass line would have had some sort of change to it... maybe a melody or something? it does start to change towards the end... but it only goes up one note. i like what you did with the lfo sweeps... but again, if it changed pitch more, it would have kept my interest alot more. percussion is right on for the feel you were seeking though. over all this would have been a great minimalist song if there was more emphasis on melody progression of some sort.

GOOD JOB!
