Anyway, a very dark sounding, minimal house with a tribal beat. (those things I can be sure of) It's minimal compared to the rest that I do, but I think I should have gone even more minimal. The thing is, there's usually too much drama or some sort of crisis going on for my stuff to be minimal, if you kinda get what I mean. Ya know, overkill kind of stuff.
I think there's a quality boost in terms of style in this one. hehe, maybe I was feeling very cool.

As most people have said - this isn't dark at all - but perhaps "Sultry" in a way.
I was impressed with the rhythm section - bass line works really well.
My only criticism is that the mix is VERY hot with a lot of distortion on the the highs - I know that is a "Style" - but I think this track would benefit with a more gentle mastering treatment.

maybe the over hot sound may have something to do with the track sounding not so dark? I'll try a more un-hot mix in the next track and see how that plays out.
you're right shroomz. humbleness should be everyone's best friend. I think it's the only way to cause change, and to learn new stuff.

No, it's the woofer of my A.D.A.M. subwoofer box, working together (variable crossover) with my ADAM nearfields

It's designed for sawtooth waves specially...

Sorry Ken, I give it back to you again

This is not dark. Nostalgic perhaps but not dark.
Suggestion: Put a noise gate on those tribal drums (reverb included) to bring out that percussive aspect of the music a bit more. Don't add any more reverb to it, I mean after the gate.
This sounds a bit like a tune I compose almost every year with the first snow, aside from the rhythm.
Oh...and you're talking to me about my lack of chord progressions lately?
