okay, so that doesn't have anything to do the with the music but anyway.. A cool house tune with a classic house feel to it. Very fashionable sound, easy listening.

It's always nice when someone talks back to you in the same musical language! You wanna put together a full resolution version of this? I can send you a non-compressed version or you can send me you guitar track

I always like the positive drive in Kens Funky songs.
Reminds me on the last Z contest.
Very clever use of scary moments, for example mark 1.12,I thought a windowz window pops-up.

Personaly, I wish Ken had broke up the track, stoped the beat or filtered it out. Build space for a guitar from Paul, for example, along with this fine piano sound that you can hear at the end of this track.
Nice re-freshing track with the correct, loud mastering.

Ken you might hate me for this, but i'd *love* to here this with an old skool style garage/house diva vocal track. It would cheese the whole track up a liitle, but could still be way cool. Think Masters at Work (Louis Vega, Kenny Dope, NY) There's a few other things i'd do, but they're probably down to taste

Great vibe m8 !!

right on! MAW was exactly the sort of classic house influence I had. I'm sort of in a transitional phase going from the old school house towards the newer progressive house styles.. I mean, there isn't much of a market for classic house is there. Ahh, long gone are the good 'ol days.On 2005-11-15 06:32, Shroomz wrote:

by the way shroomz, let me ask you this since you seem to have the scene well under your belt.. can you recommend me some labels or artists that does modern house but not too electric? (with a bit of jazz/funk) I'm listening to the newer house tunes and they're so.. electric and trancy. Or maybe that's the way of the future, who knows.
I'm a big fan of Ludovic Navarre – aka St Germain. Before releasing 'Tourist' on 'Blue Note', he released "Boulevard", on Laurent Garnier's independent label F.Communications. Tourist was an awesome fusion of House, Jazz & african styles. Amazing stuff.
I'll dig you up some label contacts. Anywhere in the world i take it ?
Man, your track inspired me into thinking funky vocal tracks.... boopbedoopbap
Just need a slim bodied singer now.. or do we need a fat bird (no offence to fat birds)
P.S i'm not so sure about the way a lot of house is going these days either. Like you, i listen to some of the newer, so called progressive house & it really sounds as much like minimal trance to me. Certainly not the sort of flavour i'd call house music, but it's always been a wide genre. Funky, deep & dirty soul vibes, that's what i like in house. (But don't tell anyone

Ken, i could've PM'd you these links, but they are very good links for a lot of people here, so just thought i'd drop them right here for you.
Most of these labels are of a very high caliber & very cool, some are heavy duty like Jive & JiveElectro, who've signed big names such as Groove Armada (& many more)
Check them out & check the 'links' or 'friends' sections (especial) of these sites for even more links to very cool labels.

If you get releases on some of these labels you're what would be called getting somewhere in a big way

Ehm, there not strictly all labels, as one or two deal more with management, but most are worth a good look.
Happy browsing.
P.S There's obviously a huge amount of labels Ken, so what you asked wasn't too easy, but there's definately some top links above, so hope that'll be enough to get you started.
BTW It's worth mentioning that the now quite legendary 25 year old DJ James Holden is the one behind 'Bordercommunity' This is of particular interest, as he is one of the DJ's who spins purely (well, mainly) CDRs these days. So what i'm saying is that James Holden & others like him who are DJs doing very very well for themselves, would be good people to target
... Not with semi-mince demos, but with finished tracks as 'white-label' CDRs.
Get his postal address & simply send him white labels (with an email address & logo at most)
In fact, do that for them all when you're sure you're ready !!!
