Hi all,
Any advice for my noise problem? I've search and search, tried all the common fixes, but it's just not working.
This is what is happening:
- When the computer is booted up, all is quiet.
- When I get a project going in cubase SX 2.0 and start adding plugins or virtual instruments, I get a high pitched grinding noise from my luna card.
- The noise is low in level, but there's enough to bother me.
- The noise changes pitch when I change the sample rate
- The noise stops when I do something graphically (move windows)
- The noise has existed in other versions of the driver software
- The noise occurs when the card is in other computers
I think there is a sync issue. In cubase in the device setup, I'm using the ASIOscope drivers, and the sync is set to the card.
When I used XTC mode (using Cubase SX1) the noise stopped. I think this may be because Cubase acts as the master???
The IO Box has been checked out, there no problem there...may be the card is damamged?
Does anyone know why the sync is falling off? Should I be doing something in the routing window?
I have the following setup:
- Luna II
- 2496 IO Box (connected via zlink)
- SFP 4.0
- Intel Pentium 4 2.3Ghz
- Asus P4PE Motherboard
- 1 Gig of RAM
- Matrox G450 Video Card
- Antec True Power 380W PSU
I using the following software:
- Cubase SX 2.0
In the setup of this computer, I have:
- Tweaked the system for best audio performance
- Made sure the Luna card has it's own IRQ (currently 21)
- I've tried different PCI slots
- Disabled USB, and any other port which isn't needed
- Disabled BUS Mastering on the Video Card
The ONLY thing I haven't done is adjust the PCI latencies, but I really
don't think this is causing the problem.
I don't want to sell off my creamware gear, but I'm getting to that point.
Any offers...its going cheap =)
Thanks,
AgentTMP
