Just got power back after 3 days of power outage.. that's about how long we lost power during Katrina. We got hit when Wilma was changing from a cat 3 to a cat 2 I think, and we weren't directly under Wilma, so the damage was just a little stronger than Katrina.. But some had it bad in other areas of South FL, like some had roofs get blown off and stuff.

Other than not being able to get gas for the time being, I think people are enjoying a week off from daily business.. I see people gathering with relatives, barbequeing (only way to get hot food) and kids playing catch because their playstations won't work. I also see people rollerblading, jogging.. I'm beginning to think not having electricity actually enriches people's lives... lol

But anyway, we're lucky our houses didn't get blown away and that's probably why people can still laugh about it over a barbeque.

The only problem right now is that lots of people need gas.. and since power just came back on, it should be a matter of time 'till the the gas stations get electricity to operate their pumps.
