Hello together

first of all i must be sorry for my english but i`ll try my best

here is my problem

everytime i start sfp on my pc my cd`s don`t work. When i close the sfp everything is fine. When i open a directory on a cd an then startup sfp only that cd works, the other ones are still not alive. The bios on my K7S5A is the latest that i can get, aspi driver is 4.71, acpi is disabled. I just tried a lot of things but ...

My PC Configuration

ECS Motherboard K7S5A with Athlon XP1600+, running on 133/133Mhz Bus, Sound an LAN onboard are enbabled, because i need a second midi in device
2*256MB Dimm RAM (i think infenion or samsumg)
LG DVD Burning Drive as PriMaster
Seagate HDD 20GB as PriSlave
Toshiba DVD ROM as SecMaster
Aopen CD Burning Drive as SecSlave
Matrox G450 in DualScreen Mode

Software is Win2000 SP4, Cubase3.7R2, Scope 4.0, Rebirth 2.0 ....

I`ll need some help!!! PLEASE!!!!!!!

according to an old case I vaguely remember it's the akai driver (which sfp loads for sampling cd access) that hides the 'regular' cd-rom driver.
at least the symptoms were exactly like your description.
is there a special reason for that master/slave setting of your system ?

cheers, tom

the setting of lg drive as master on primary is of course i updated the firmware some days ago and therefore you have to connect it as primary master, thats all
i don`t know if it is the problem but i don`think so
do you know how i can disable the akai driver in pulsar, i just thougt that it could be the reason for the problem
in the file browser of sfp i also can`t read any cd, same prob as in windows explorer
i don`t have an akai cd here so that i can test it

I have some similar issues. I just close the project, insert the CD and reopen the project. It seems to find it for me then. Then I copy the content to the hard drive and all is sweet. I can access via the file browser. Edit: these are AKAI files, sorry if I didn't answer your question very well.

Other than that, I can't give much help except check that your file browser is not set to filter the CD files out.

Best wishes.
