So, dear friends. Today I'm completely desparated and I need your help.

At 1st my specs:

Asrock K7VT4A Pro (VIA KT400A chipset)
AMD 2000+
512 MB DDR 266
2 x 80 GB HDs (IDE)
Scope Pro 14 DSP, Luna 3 DSP
Matrox G 450 Dual
2 x 17" LCDs
Win98se, Scope 4.0, Cubase 5.1, WaveLab 3 etc.

Connected with USB 1.1:
Masterkeyboard M-Audio Keystation Pro 88
MIDI-Interface MIDISport 4x4
Roland XV 5050
HP Laserjet 1200
PC-Linq

My old 1st HD was broken, and my dealer gave me a new HD and this new MoBo, too.
First Q: Is this MoBo crap, or can anybody work with it? I suspect a poor PCI-bus performance. My old board was an ASUS A7M266 with the AMD chipset.
With new MoBo and new HD I started a complete new installation. I wanted to stick by 98se, cos I like the audio restauration tools from tripleDAT.
I did the tweaks we know all: vcache = 1/4 of RAM, permanent swap file, PCI latency timer as high as possible, disabled busmastering from my Matrox G450 Dual, disabled USB 2.0 (it wanted to share the IRQ with one Scope card! BIOS is crappy, tweaking IRQs there isn't possible!), disabled unused ports, disabled LAN etc. etc.
Strange: My cset.ini doesn't show anything, that I've built in 2 cards, though my DSP meter shows correctly Scope+Luna 18 DSPs and the STDM-cable is ok. I have to write it manually, but my problem sticks.
My problem: Every time when I work with Cubase, the well-known warning "PCI overflow etc." appears many times.
As long as I only play, and tweak, and fiddle, it may be ok, though it is very annoying. But every time when I want something to record, the warning appears and stops recording. Cubase freezes, and I have to reboot.
I did the MV-test, and voilà: After only 6 MVs the same warning appears.
Is it this new MoBo? With my old MoBo i could record fat arrangements with no problems. With the new MoBo it seems, Cubase cannot record anything.
Please help me, friends, I have to work very hard in the next time with my DAW, but it seems impossible.

Yours Thomas

I'll try to remove the Luna. 14 DSPs are enough for me, I think.
If there is a success, I'll post it immediately.
My dealer would change the MoBo.
nForce3 is a good tip.
But the whole installation from the beginning ... grrrrrrr!!!
Maybe that's the only one possibility.

I'll give this whole box to my wife. To write some letters with Word, this board may be ok.
