I haven't purchased my second card yet, and was wondering if it would work in PCI-X 533MHz slot. From what I've gathered it will bring down 533MHz to 133MHz which should not be problematic, for GS3 is in a RAID 1 configuration on a separate buss, the PCI-X, and I doubt that I generate more than 70mbps on that buss. I thought that having each HDD or sound card on its own buss would be better for live perfofmance/stability. All FX are now routed externally except for Phaza, and Tape Sim. i.e. Reverbs are all external Lexicon ( sp/dif ), and Alesis Q20 ( ADAT ). Motherboard is a workstation class Supermicro P4SCT+II.

That motherboard (P4SCT+II) is listed as having the following:

• 3x 64-bit 66MHz PCI-X (3.3V) slots
• 2x 32-bit 33MHz PCI (5V) slots

Creamware cards are 33Mhz PCI 5v cards, and the PCI-X slots on that motherboard are 3.3v only. Sorry...

That answers my question, thank you sir. I guess I better not skimp on # of DSPs. I was going to get a project for extra I/Os, and DSPs. Sounds like Quantum Wave, and Solaris will be DSP hungry, I best stick with the dual Pro approach. To be honest I'm way ahead of myself here. I really need to learn what I have already before I get too deep into future Bowens' synthesis. Thanks for your reply. If you're ever in Las Vegas and want to hear Scope doing fusion, and classic rock, I'll be performing for the next year as a copy band starting in 1-06 at the Strip Resorts. Name of the band will be the Spirochetes.
