Strange behaviour of Cubase SL 3 and 3.01
When recording midi with my Pulsar card in "standard mode" the midi notes are spot on, but as soon as I use Pulsar XTC mode (which is my preferred mode) the notes are approx: 1/16 ahead of time.
This problem was already somewhat present in SL3 but I could manage by editing individual notes (quite time consuming). After the update to 3.01 things actually got worse (an update supposed to fix things - I thought). But every note is at least 1/16 ahead of time and sometimes notes are "glued" together - horrible.
The emulated DirectMusic midi In/Out has disappeared in 3.01 and I am now only seeing Pulsars "Creamware Midi" in Windows Midi in the Device Setup. Which should be a good thing according to many forum reports and Steinberg.
I never faced this problem with the previous VST platform and Pulsar.
Any thoughts?
Midi notes recorded too early in Cubase SL3
try using emulated midi.
do not move ignoreportfilter from its folder.
maybe it works.
i had the same problem with timing getting worse after a few minutes.
i couldn't make it fixed with non emulated midi.
only emulated midi saved me.
now i have perfect! timmings, tested in slow tempo and midi full zoomed so to see every little recorded line.
why do you use xtc?
i think that you loose things.
what do you gain?

So I guess I am stuck?!
Reason for using XTC is that I only want to load one file (Cubase project) and have everything setup and ready to go (I do not want to load a separate Pulsar project also and keep track of various versions of that). Simplicty really and XTC gives me that.
