Crashes while recording audio

Hi, I hope someone helps me with this one. I can't find a way to make my Scope 4 sound. thought of using it to record audio in my sequencer, but it crashes showing me Windows XP blue screen: "IRQ less or not equal" message. I use manual to work in fusion platform and try to follow the steps there, but I can't hear anything coming from the card. Is there any way- the easiest way- to test my card for sounding? Thank you very much fo your time and attention.

Is there some other trafic on your PCI bus?
No sound at all?
Maybe you could try anoyher asio driver.
Is there vsti involved?

Take a look at musicxp.net for some tips

The best way to test your card, is to get it to work, hope you will (not for fun, just hopefully)

Hi. Thanks for replying. I do have Audigy 2 along with Creamware, which might be causing it not to sound, however it still doesn't work when I leave it alone and pull my Audigy out (I'll try it again though). In the Control Panel Creamware appears, but when I select this card, in the volume tab it is stated that there is no audio device. Strange.... I downloaded ASIOforAll driver, but the crashes persist while recording audio. Thank you for the page you provided. I'll look it up. Thanks again. =1

you seem to not have installed everything properly. the scope card does not work the same way as the audigy and windows will not see it in the same way. the asio driver you installed is not helpful to scope.

the scope routing window is the analog of the real world. in your room, things connect with wires to jacks. scope is the same. the sequencer's audio input jacks are called asio soure and asio destination. they are located in the software i/o menu. there are several choices. i use asio2 24bit source with asio2 dest. in the sequncer, you must choose the asio scope driver, of course. this makes your sequencer into a virtual recording deck like a vs880. the sequencer's midi i/o are called sequencer midi source and dest.

a good idea would be to make a fresh installation with just the scope card(format and reinstall windows, everything), but only if you are comfortable with working on computers....

please read the installation manual that came with the card and the pdf manual located under the ? at the top of the live bar.

a blue screen indicates a hardware irq conflict or a bad motherboard. the scope card must not share a cpu interrupt request(irq) with anything else! to check for sharing go to start/programs/accessories/system tools/system information. if you have an irq conflict from sharing, you can disable unneeded ports in the bios and/or device manager and/or move the card to a different slot.

May be conflict between cards.

Hi and thanks for help! I couldn't do much as now my PC is showing IRQL_not_less_or_equal error every time I boot my XP, so I cannot access Windows. I don't know whether it is my soundcard or modem, but I've disconnected everything except a hard drive and I still cannot get rid of that blue screen. Last time I was in XP I saw that, in fact, Creamware Scope card was sharing irq 17 with other device. However I don't know how exactly to set specific IRQs to devices. My Sofware installation went perfect and sfp.exe started every time I booted Windows. Can't see anything that shows conflicts in Windows. I have INtel motherboard with P4 CPU. Can't format my disks as there are valuable info for me. Tanks for your help. I'll get back if I manage to boot my xp and try my scope home work once again. Thanks

Try starting in safe mode ( press F8 at boottime)
