Utah, I'm not surprised, that's the most ultra-conservative state in America where 70% of the people voted for Bush.

i love it when "conspiracies" are mocked. it makes me laugh. EVERYthing that passes as civilization is an OBVIOUS conspiracy(from the latin and greek, "breathe together". conspiracies are often fiction, but often they are fact. hiding conspiracies through automatic scandalization and mockery just shows them to really exist. where do people get their ideas, if not from everyone else? who is the programmer? when there are secret meetings that decide the fate of millions, is that not conspiracy? is the word "piracy" not in conspiracy, making a secret secondary meaning of "with pirates"?

^^^lots of good info there
I knew quite a few people there. This bait & switch permit game has been played many times before, and now with the SINGLE firearm they confiscated (was on the person of the son of the property owner, who unfortunately was drunk) and the 'drugs' they confiscated they have the headlines they needed for Bush's visit today:

That is horrible... but "legal" means nothing to law makers. ...and let us not forget reality; "Might is Right"On 2005-08-22 07:30, Zer wrote:

They should have been armed to the teeth and made a stand, peaceful gatherings are fundamentally flawed. This is a natural world, not a dream world... If you want to persue happiness, culture, and art.. you must be willing to kill for it.
That story is so funny to me. I personally was way into the UT scene from 92 to 95. I still go out to clubs even though the musical tastes leave something to be desired. One comment in this thread that caught my eye was the reference to the unfortunate conservative majority & firearms. First off, the people who are carrying firearms at these events are not conservative mormons, they're drug dealers. It's a little silly to assume that those who are selling your happy pills doesn't have a 9mm tucked into the back of his pants(provided your in the US).
I'm not sure if I know any one of the persons arrested but I do know the promoter. I want to hear his side of the story

An anti-Criminal Justice Bill postcard, followed by pictures of the riot police getting tooled up to heard the crowds from Trafalgar Sq' at a piecefull CJB demo in 1994. As you can imagine, things didn't turn out so piecefull when the tooled-up riot police started getting pushy with their truncheons & shields.

Well, those are methods the USA should know pretty well, they've helped set up enough of themhubird wrote:
too bad, police methods of a banana republic![]()

That is pretty bl**** shocking really, I wouldn't have expected the authorities to behave in quite so obviously a fascist manner. Mind you, it is Utah...

I was at the anti CJB march to Trafalgar Sq., not much fun
The mounted police charge within ten/twenty feet of me was an unpleasant rush, to say the least.
Remind me not to go to Utah......

The more I learn about this incident the scarier it becomes. The US constitution was thrown out the window on this one. Trespassing, illegal search & seizure, police brutality, the list goes on & on. The event was held in the most conservative county in the country...Utah County. That place SUCKS ASS! Us up in Salt Lake City(which happens to be in the top twenty most liberal cities in the country) call it Stepford Valley. Whenever a party like this would get shut down here, they would just send everyone home(probably a bad idea)with none of these orwellian strongarm tactics.
Anyway, regardless of what you have in your possesion the police cannot search you if you are merely a participant at an event that may not have proper permits. That's ludicris! They weren't trespassing, the property owner granted permission & was on site. I hate religion!
