Low input
you can do a project with a mixer (like Dynamixer) in it to control input. Just connect the Analog Source (or SPDIF Source)
and continue to ASIO Dest or Wave Dest, whatever you use for recording. I use Pulsarmixer, because then I can use the Output for the Controlroom in addition to continue to Analog Dest. So I can hear what is recorded. With the faders of the mixers I have then full control.
Happy pulsaring

Then maybe your Ultragain is not ok... A few days ago, I recorded some sounds in my place, the mic set up about 6 meters and one corner away from the Preamp and the computer, turning the amp´s output up a little bit and slightly clapping my hands made the input clip LEDs of my A16 flicker (which is set to -12db input damping...)
edit: I did that hand-clapping sitting in front of my preamp, NOT at the mics place.

Is it a balanced or unbalanced connection? Does it use 3 wires (tip/ring/ring on jack connector or so, ie. microphone Shure Beta 58A) or 2?

I've got another problem with analog ins/outs: the signal coming to the Luna analog in (for example from my cd or dat) is too high resulting in distortion while the Luna out signal is lower compared to the one from my cd or dat. As I use the analog i/o for rehearsal only this probleem doesn't affect my mixes but is anoying. There was nothing like that when I had my previous card - Gina by Echo (or using my friend's audiomedia III). Do you have any explanation for it? I'm just curious.

Thanks for your reply. I don't have any external mixer (when I use my EA1 via analog inputs I can control the device's out gain though) but isn't it distort the inputs before any control in Pulsar? I'm just curious if there are several standards for input/output level via non balanced outputs? Does it depend on a particular measurement method? (I know about -10db for non balanced and +4db for balabced)

well last things first,-10 or -20 are the most common in/out levels for non balanced lines, but this is not written in stone. for input attenuation, you should be able to use the gain control on a mixer in luna.unless you have speaker level going in,you should have plenty of headroom.there is no law in the universe that says that the cd player is putting out 0db or -10db or -20db.it is not pro reference equipment.still, things should be kinda close. On 2001-11-15 01:41, samplaire wrote:
